It can be a nice trip to just take the Ferry from downtown Kingston over to Wolfe Island, without even stopping on Wolfe Island. It is nice to get out over the water and you get a great view of Kingstion´s waterfront, RMC and Fort Henry. Note that in the winter the ferry does not go to Marysville, but to... More

How often do you find a free ferry. My wife would say it is "already paid for" since it is government funded. However, it is a ferry to nowhere. This ferry is for commuters not tourists. We found a small art exhibit and one decent restaurant on Wolfe Island. The best known beach costs $9 a person to get in... More

If you have the time, a side trip to Wolf Island is a great part of a visit to Kingston. The free ferry leaves every half hour in the summer. It is not that large so it can get busy on the weekends. The crossing takes around 20 minutes, and is quite relaxing. Wolfe Island is far more interesting than... More

Took the ferry to Wolf Island for the afternoon and had lunch in a park by the water. Visited shops and an ice cream store.

We decided to stay an extra day in Kingston... and spent the morning shopping and seeing a few more sites. Just after 2 pm, we decided to take the free ferry ride over to Wolfe Island. You can walk on and there is a free shuttle at the other end, that will drive you straight into the town of Marysville... More

We borrowed bicycles to take to Wolfe Island and these were accommodated safely and easily on the ferry. The trip to Wolfe Island was excellent but could have done with a little more open deck seating for the lovely fine weather we had. Fun for all the family here.

Beautiful views all the way from Wolfe Island to Kingston. The forts, the cityscape, the entire waterfront. The ferry runs only about once an hour so you might have to wait. But the views are certainly worth it if you have the time.

One of the most beautiful approaches to any world city is the view from the Wolfe Islander III as it returns to Kingston from Wolfe Island. I have always taken the small, private ferry from Cape Vincent, NY to Wolfe Island, and driven across Wolf Island to the "big" ferry. On this trip, the ferry carried 30 cars and one... More

I came across from the NY side taking the ferry first from Cape Vincent to Point Alexandria then from Wolfe island to Kingston. Pretty views. I found the staff friendly and efficient and couldn't believe it was a free ride. Provincial funding, through taxation covers the expense.
