Get up close to the fighters jets and the war planes. Sit in the cockpit. Lots of planes, photos and history. See the inside of a jet engine. There is a lot of history to be found here. Talk to the mechanics and the historians. Buy a souvenir at the store then watch the planes take off from the airport.

We were very happy with the warplane museum, lots of history and planes to look at. My husband and I enjoyed our guide Ted who was thorough, answered lots of questions and had plenty of stories. Thanks Ted

As a Brit yiu get used to tape and signs saying 'don't cross, don't touch no entry". This is the complete opposite. The majority of aircraft are airworthy and with a tour guide you are encouraged to get in and look around. Non flying displays are very well kitted out and again you are encouraged to get in and play... More

WOW! All these historic aircraft under one roof! SO interesting! My ONLY issue is that as a Museum, I think they should have more hands on exhibits, where you can learn more about the aircraft, flight, the wars that they were used in, the people that flew them etc.

We visit the museum 3-4 times each year and it's always enjoyable. The exhibits are very informative and personal anecdotes provide insight into Canada's contributions during the World Wars. The planes have been painstakingly restored and the volunteers are very knowledgeable and only too happy to answer all questions. I flew the Lancaster during my military career and seeing it... More

Nice place to visit. Lots of aircraft history on the different types of aircraft. Especially nice to see is the Lancaster aircraft, which has just been flown to England for a show/display with the only other Lancaster aircraft still flying.

Beautifully organized with stories, articles from the past, items salvaged from the war...you can transport yourself back in time. Great pieces of local contributions to the war as well. Then there are the planes - so many and with great stories. The volunteers working on them are so friendly and love to share their knowledge and their own stories. Great... More

Wonderful visit to see Mount Hope Village again. The museum is just beautiful, with an entire history of Canadian aviation history under one hangar roof. A bonus event not to be missed is when the Canadian Tribute to Glen Miller Big Band plays there! Dancing and dinner under the wings of the Mynarski Lancaster - not to be missed. It's... More

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has an excellent collection of historic planes. The building is easily accessible, the planes are fascinating, the volunteers helpful, and even the gift shop is fantastic. I've been to a wedding there, and a conference banquet, and the food and service, surrounded by these marvelous machines is extraordinary.
