The town that you drive into almost seems like a ghost town. There is a condo building gated community and than everything else is closed or boarded up. Then you get to a small parking lot thats seen better days with decaying buildings next to it. But when you walk down the dune the view is amazing, hard to tell... More

So many motor boats inside the swimming area of the beach, that the smell of the gasoline was overpowering and the water all around was covered with thin layer of the oil (motor fuel, I believe). I didn't find it particularly healthy no pleasant to take a swim in the motor oil.

we've been to crystal (now called Bay beach) many years in a row. the clear water and almost white sand are really unique! the town is very cute and lots of family owned mom-in-pop restaurants to dine or relax in along the main intersection. but other than the beach and restaurants there isn't really much more. keep in mind Niagara... Thanks for all the nice reviews of my small town and amazing beach. Btw…I've lived on the beach for 37 years and never seen or heard of a sand flea - ever! I live here by choice and if it were not a terrific place I would move in a minute. Like a lot of posters stated, there is not... More

I could see just from looking at it, that it wasn't the sort of place I'd like to swim or even lay on the sand. But since we were there, we decided to just stroll along and take a few pictures. Even that was a mistake, as our feet and ankles were bitten by sand-fleas! Won't be back.

We stumbled across this quaint little beach. It was quite lovely and we had a wonderful stroll down the beach. There were a lot of people there. It was a great find!

Really nice beach, clean and not so crowded. White smooth sand and shallow sweat water. No parking problems.

There was not too much to the beach and the water was not very clean - there seemed to be a lot of algaie.

They are correct ... This beach is Ontario'a best kept secret. Clean sandy beaches. Patrons not allowed to bring food or alcohol and there is a security guard to check bags etc. parking is reasonable $5 for the day. Not many places to eat etc. but you can certainly bring a picnic and have your sandwich in the parking lot.... More
