This theater is the best in Barrie! It has a lot of really old charm to it, you get a kinda creepy vibe going upstairs with all the mirrors, which is cool. They have a licensed bar too! Comfy seats!

The theatre with lounge seats is very comfy. The audio is not as loud as it is in most other theatres. Convenient location and trendy movies.

This was a small hometown theatre among the strip of shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the pinball machine in the lobby. The staff was very friendly. We were here several times for the film festival which we enjoyed very much ( our favorite one was " Pride". The one complaint was that the theatre and some of the seats needed... More

Great theater and right downtown. Just like the old days, no line up for tickets or the concessions. Super value, combos are available at the concession stand...the price can't be beat. Good movies are always playing. Plan on going again real soon!

Love the recliner seats in the theatre, also a great value for your money. Plays great movies that don't play at the chain theatres in Barrie.

I haven't done the calculations for the snack bar, but they are probably cheaper, too. 2. There are NO COMMERCIALS. That's right. We absolutely abhor having to PAY for a movie and then be forced to see advertising.... More

My friends and I go to the movies just about every week and spread it out between the three theatres in Barrie. One of the Uptown theatres has recliner chairs and we love it to be able to see a movie there. However the last time we were in that particular theatre, some of the chairs were not working so... The Uptown Theater hosts the Barrie Film Festival and also shows many indie and foreign language films throughout the year. I particularly enjoyed seeing A Royal Affair, Renoir, Chasing Ice, and Kon Tiki here. The theatre itself is a bit of a mixed bag. It has a real rustic charm which is very endearing to me. Though It could definitely... More
