Barrie's Centennial Park located on the shore of beautiful Kempenfelt Bay has it all. An absolutely fantastic location, on the bus route, with downtown and dozens of great restaurants and shops literally a three minute walk away. The park itself follows the curve of the bay, it is filled with beautiful gardens and fountains, has gorgeous sand beach areas with... More

I have been here a few times over the years, there is a great play area for kids, a sand beach on a fresh water lake marked off with a safe swim area and in the summer there are the fountains too. A lot of this coming from experience of playing there myself when I was younger.

Beautiful in-city Park - with loads of amenities and accessibility to so much. Lots of restaurants near by, for both kids and or couples, the playgrounds - walk along the beach. Lake Simcoe is right there!

The park is alive during the summer but most popular is the Kempenfest Weekend where an aray of outdoor markets feature crafts and food items. good entertainment as well.

Our city attracts so many out of towners for our waterfront park that we now charge visitors for parking. Canada geese make walking hazardous because of poop.

Open beautiful clean lake. Deep waters so very cold until August for swimming but on hot days a refreshing experience. Started to charge for beach parking a BiT disappointing

The city of Barrie has done much to create and maintain this waterfront area. What you see now used to be water. The lake used to come all the way up to the train tracks. Now we have a lovely walking area, marina, playground, roadways, and a few condo buildings. This place can become quite crowded during the summer, but... More
