Great beach and always fun stuff going on

Better beach than Toronto beaches. Simcoe is beautiful year round. Always fun festivals going on. Good restaurants and parking near by. Gets very very crowded in the summer though

This isn't really anyone's fault, and I hate it when people do this, but I would rate it excellent if it weren't so busy.

This popular waterfront park is a favourite with the young crowd and parents can enjoy the beautiful view of the bay and all the other surrounding activity. Lots to do nearby and right on the lakeshore walking/bike paths.

This is a really nice park. Bike paths, walking paths, beautiful flowers, a lot of areas to sit under the trees, and a great kids area in the sand. The beach is nice and sandy and a lot of shallow water areas for kids, including a waterfall spray that cools everyone off. There are also a lot of summer events... More

Lived in Barrie my whole life and the waterfront is always a great place to go. Now that they have redone it the waterfront is even better!

We live in Barrie now and I would highly recommend anyone take their kids/family to centennial park in the summer. We traveled to Cancun with our 3 kids and realized when we were there that we should have just gone to sit at Centennial beach/park and ate at the local restaurants instead! The park is awesome for kids up to... More

We truly have a gem in our back doors. It hugs Kempenfelt Bay. Great for children of all ages. Always make your walk enjoyable.

There is a great park here and many weekend throughout the summer the city of Barrie puts on some kind of festival or another. So there's always something going on. The beach area is nice enough but the water here is always cold and is quite deep. Not that it's anyone's fault but it is something to consider. But then... More

Paid parking for out of towners is ridiculous. The beach is dirty, way to many people, lots of sketchy people just hanging around, the path is constantly blocked by city workers.
