Killbear Provincial Park is one of Ontario Parks most sought after. Getting a reservation here, especially on a long weekend takes a special kind of determination. You literally have to wake up at 6:30, prefill all of the reservation fields and hit the "reserve" button by 7:00:00 am or you are out of luck. If you wait until 7:00:01, you... More

Our family has visited Killbear several times and other than the shock of the missing trees cut down due to Beech it has always been a pleasure. I have heard others complain of the bears and other wildlife but what people must remember we are camping in "their territory". I haven't personally had a encounter on my site except a... More

Unfortunately beech bark disease is affecting the beauty of this park Many sites that were private are now wide open for everyone to see. I hope the beauty returns to this park The nature centre is the best! Deers are plentiful in this park which is nice, Water is aweosme .

We camp at Killbear several times a year and there are reasons for it. Georgian Bay is always stunning, sites with view of the water are plentiful, staff is friendly, visitor centre is nice, etc. Deer are all over the park and seem to be OK to allow humans to observe them from a close distance. Bears are also plentiful... More

We had a pick-up truck and put food into coolers and into the truck bed, but during the night a bear came to our campsite and raided all the food. There was some damage to the truck and you could see where the bear had climbed up into the truck. We had two camp sites next to each other and... More

We were looking for a destination for a night away over the long weekend. We were going to head to Orillia, but researched dog friendly areas and found very few. Decided instead to head to Parry Sound and Killbear as it advertised dog friendly beaches. Saw a red fox close to the front entrance. Headed to the day use area.... More

We first experienced Killbear six years go. We were hooked. The shoreline and views are breathtaking. There are plenty of trails for every skill level. The staff is all friendly. Every time we have gone , we have seen wildlife. The rangers regularly drive around to be sure everyone is okay and that the rules are being followed. The washrooms... More

I have been camping at Killbear for 18 years and have stayed at Kilcoursie, Beaver Dams and Georgian Bay. I have camped in both tents and trailers and the scariest wildlife I had encountered was a mouse who decided to nest in our van, I'm terrified of mice, bears not so much. Yes there are bears! I have seen them... More

Good organized and clearly marked Killbear Provincial Park is a good destination for a day tour from Parry Sound. In August the place is very popular and we saw a lot of people everywhere. The tracking paths are good prepared and they offer attractive outlooks. Unfortunately, no meeting with bears.
