Good view of the famous harbour

A very inexpensive way to see some of the city and harbour...as well as the amazing bridges. We did a walk on...it was chilly out side, but worth the time and trouble

We rode the ferry just to do it. It took about 10 minutes to get from Halifax to Dartmouth. Super cheap, about $2.50 for round-trip. Great way to see the Halifax Harbour as well. We didn't really have a plan once we got to Dartmouth and some areas did look a little sketchy so we hopped right back on and... More

The harbour ferry is the cheapest way to get views of Halifax and Dartmouth from the water. Take the round trip ferry ride or get off and explore the downtown.

For just a Halifax-Dartmouth transit fare (be sure to ask for your transfer upon paying your fare -- otherwise you'll need to pay to come back too), we enjoyed two harbour crossings, a pleasant walk from Woodside to Dartmouth, and even had time to have lunch before the transfer (valid 2 hours) ran out. Another passenger was taking the ferry... More

If visiting Halifax, well worth the $2 fare in each direction. The most spectacular view of the Halifax waterfront is from the upper deck of the fairy, approx. crossing time is 10-15 minutes. Amazing on a clear sunny day. Easy to take the 10-15 minute crossing from Halifax to Dartmouth with the option of touring the Dartmouth waterfront with views... More
