Great value

An excellent on-time service which is a cheap way to see the Halifax skyline from the sea. Ask for a metro ticket which gives you 90minutes in Dartmouth.

The boat rides takes you across from the Halifax side of the city to the Dartmouth side of the city for the cost of a bus ticket! You can walk around the waterfront on either side then ride back for another bus ticket. The ride is about ten minutes and has an outdoor upper deck and indoor lower deck. The... More

Joining the Hfx and Dartmouth waterfronts. Beautiful views of the harbour front, bridges and the islands

We went on the ferry twice during our stay in Halifax and on both occasions it was a great experience. Always on time and at $2.50 an adult with young kids being free, very good value. Loved that you have the option to sit up on deck or undercover. From Dartmouth, the views of Halifax are simply stunning! It only... More

If ou just want to take an inexpensive tour of the harbor and see if from the water side, then this ferry is the way to go. If runs every half hour or so and is really a commuter ferry, but you can use they same ticket as a transfer if you use the ticket within 90 minutes. So if... More

Can't believe we've been coming to HFX for so many years and never took this ride! Cheap and fun. Lots of clean bathrooms and great restaurants on both sides of the route. Farmers market on the weekend. A great walking trail on the Dartmouth side. In the 4 days we were in HFX we took the ride 3 times!

Is a great way to see the harbor. You need exact change to pay, price is $2.50 per person, make sure you ask for a transfer of you are not going to be more than 90 minutes on the other side. Is a great way to explore and take pictures.

On a sunny but cool Friday evening, for $7 two adults and a child got to view both Dartmouth and Halifax from the water on the upper deck of the ferry. Although there is no narration - you are on your own - with a map you can pick out the sights; Georges Island, MacNabs Island, the harbour mouth, the... More

A good way to get to the other side of the harbour is you are not driving and not willing to use a cab. On a good day the view is really good. If you are new or old resident at least one trip on the ferry is a must.

We loved going across from Dartmouth to Halifax on the ferry.. Nice wide open views and warmer drier places to sit on damp days. Takes maybe 20 minutes to cross but you get to have an awesome view of the city from the boat.. Great for all ages
