The ferry was reliable and punctual. Public transport to the ferry terminal is superb. On arrival in Halifax, access to the harbour and boardwalk is immediate. The waiting areas on either side were clean and comfortable, as were the ferries themselves. More

OK, very economical. $2.25 each direction. Got off and walked a bit in Dartmouth. Hmmm. Very "quiet" to be polite. Enjoyed skyline view of Halifax on the trip back, as well as view of the Royal Canadian Navy Maritime Fleet. Apparently you can transfer to surface transit when back to Halifax ... didn't try that. The harbour ferry is a fun way to experience Halifax and Dartmouth from the water. Travel outside of rush hour. Fun and a great way to see the water fronts of both cities. Try to go on a sunny day to sit out doors. it's cheap and fun and a great spot to take pics. More

BEST value for sightseeing the harbour, bar none; convenient, cheap, makes foot tours easy for both Downtown and Dartmouth. Too bad it doesn't go into the basin! More
