This is an inexpensive way to see the waterfront and get to Dartmouth. If fact, if you ask for a transfer and return in two hours, the return trip is free. The ticket cost is $2.50 Canadian. I got off the ferry and walked to Dartmouth Commons to get a nice view of Halifax.

We had a free day before our Caravan tour began and decided to take a bus ride into Halifax. While there we took the ferry ride and it was very enjoyable. We also benefited from a 'fringe' festival being held in Plymouth. We sat and enjoyed the entertainment before boarding the ferry to return to Halifax.

Get a view of the Halifax waterfront for only $2.50/person. It was a nice ride over to Dartmouth. Got off and walked around the waterfront and caught a ferry back in time to get some nice pictures of Halifax with the sun setting.

We went on the ferry to cool off with the kids. Went over to Alderney landing and had a great time. Beautiful views and a sense of relaxation on the ferry.

When on Halifax waterfront this is a must! Short but great harbour crossing, walk through Dartmouth waterfront, stop for a cup of coffee and return to Halifax with change from $5. Beautiful view of Halifax harbour, bridges, skyline, navy fleet docks, distant islands at the entrance to the harbour, busy water traffic and more. Repeat at sunset. Wow.

This three hour ride was comfortable and smooth. We had lunch onboard and there was plenty of good seating. Friendly crew and professional service all around.

Love the water and this was a great way to cruise across the Harbour without paying the vey high prices for the other harbor cruises. Also a great way to get to Darmouth , save a toll and visit an equally great place. Rode Ferry twice.

The ferry to Dartmouth leaves every 15 minutes during the week and every 30 minutes on the weekend. It costs $2.50 one way ($1.75 for seniors). You must have the exact change, but there are coin machines in the ferry terminal. If you ask for a transfer (WHEN YOU BUY YOUR TICKET) and if you return within a certain time,... More

We took the ferry to Dartmouth. Nice ride, but nothing going on in Dartmouth. Unless you have business there, or need to waste some time, I would skip this.
