The tour was fun - actors depicting characters in the 1860s - very cheesy, and we started out thinking we weren't going to like it all. In the end, we enjoyed it a lot. The actors were also very good singers, and I think we enjoyed that the most. A fun hour and good value. We got to sample the... More

Before I moved to Halifax a good friend of mine told me to never do the brewery tour as it was the worst he'd ever been on. Having been on plenty of brewery tours myself and not being a fan of Keith's beer at all, I didn't think it would ever be a possibility. Until three and a half years... More

Going on the Keith's Brewery tour seemed the kind of Halifax touristy thing that a local should do at least once. So I was happy to have the opportunity to do it for free at my husband's Xmas party. Not sure what to say... Extremely light on content (don't expect to learn anything much about beer, Halifax history, Alexander Keith,... More

Yes! This is by far the BEST Brewery tour I have had and the MOST entertaining. You learn history and chemistry & business in 1 hour. I highly recommend visiting this place when you have an hour to spare. Beers are not not meant to be abused. Drinking is for social gathering and it definitely delivered on this tour.

This was a great tour. You don't have to be a beer drinker to enjoy it. The brewery is the original building so the architecture is great. The tour is done by actors so you learn history of the time period as well as the history of the brewery. The actors are great and you will enjoy song dance games... More

generally love Keith's - got a lot of bars in Ontario to start carrying Keith's when I lived there, and got AST to use it - BUT: lately quality control is off - Keith's Red & the pale ale now pour inconsistently (bottles at same temp to glass of same temp) and I have had three total duds (flat) in... Not so much a brewery tour as a tour de force by a group of talented and enthusiastic actors. Each playing their part in telling the story of the brewery the beer and the man, in what is in effect, a series of set stages with some well produced video segments, in which you also play your part too.Once this... the players at the AK brewery tour certainly get into their roles as 19th century period personalities. Something to occupy an hour or so on a rainy day.

The Alexander Keith's Brewery was a great learning experience. I got to learn all about the history, and still had a great time ! The workers there were all AMAZING! They were so theatrical and made you feel like you actually went back in time! HOW COOL IS THAT?! And the fact that you get to taste the beer at... More

My husband and I were on a cruise that stopped in Halifax. On the way back from the Citadel, we passed this brewery. There was a sign out front. We took a chance and went in. I had expected an explanation of how beer was brewed. While we learned a little of that, the best part were the actors and... More
