Fun, educational and beer tasting!

My husband and I took the tour and really enjoyed ourselves. The actors who played various period people were great and the brew tasting was fun.

I quite enjoyed the beer tour. We did bring our son, suitable for families. It is not a beer making tour. It's a history lesson on how Alexander Keith made beer in the 1800's. But don't worry there is a taste test in the end of the tour. Enjoy!!

The price of the tour was high and therefore our expectations were much higher. We arrived to do the 12pm tour, but one of the cast members did not show up for work so we had lunch at the Red Stag upstairs and did the tour at 1pm instead. The computer/till was not working when we paid. I felt very... More

I was expecting to view the actual brewery operation and not actors in period costumes re-enacting snippets of brewery history. While entertaining, it is far over-priced. You get to see very little of the brewery and I'm now not sure if it is even an operating brewery anymore.

We liked our visit and the building must be seen ! BUT the cost is really too much ! We visit other breweries/vineyards and most of them are free (they charge to taste their products -- children don't pay)... We understand that there were actors but...their speeches were too long and we have a 10-minutes movie also. But we love... More

I wish they had option to opt out of the theatrics. Bit much at times with songs and dance seemed to go on too long and feel overpriced. Not even a glass souvenir! Did get two half pints offered but only IPA and their red Surely more ?

First off, this isn't an ordinary tour. It's more of a beer theatre and it's rather neat to watch. You will not get flooded with beer, as this isn't a true working brewery in the sense or fashion of most tours one may take. The beer is mass produced elsewhere. However the history and embiance makes this so special that... More

Again... you just booked your Marriott Harbor front Hotel and started thinking about drowning your thirst... then go to the Alexander Keith's Brewery which is just seven minutes away from your hotel... The brewery itself is a beautiful old building... rather a set of buildings in old part of Halifax... On your way to brewery you can enjoy shopping, admiring... More

Lots of information with a lot of fun and generous tastes of beer. It was great being able to tour this historic building as well.
