There’s nothing quite like the experience of bouncing around Halifax in a converted Vietnam-era amphibious troop carrier. Starting at the Citadel to wend around the city’s landmarks and finishing with a seamless jaunt into Halifax Harbour, the Harbour Hopper is one of Halifax’s must-do attractions. A cross between a carnival ride and historic tour, the Harbour Hopper is entertaining and... More

Great way to orient yourself to the city layout and learn a bit about the history of Halifax. I’d suggest doing this as one of your first activities in Halifax as it covers a lot of the major city spots, so you can work out what you want to go visit. These tours are similar to the duck tours in... More

I recently had the wonderful opportunity of going on a Harbour Hopper tour. Our hilarious and informative tour guide (Laura!) entertained us with interesting facts and details about some of Halifax's most notable features and historical events. The actual Harbour Hopper was an experience in and of itself - how often do you get to ride around on an amphibious... More

Nice to see a little of Halifax and then see some of the habour .The museum of the Atlantic is right on the shore line .The guide we had was very knowledgable about the sights and history -like the famous explosion .I thought it was very entertaining.

Riding around Halifax in a ridiculous looking frog like duck boat was a great way to spend a hour checking out the city. The tour guide was charming and made silly jokes while hitting the highlights of Halifax history and hot spots. Take the tour...it's worth it!

Our tour guide had a great personality but really lacked any substance to the info and stories she shared. I had walked the waterfront earlier that morning and learned most of her facts just by googling a few things. I agree with a previous post that they spent too much time promoting the waterfront businesses in our short time on... More

I booked this tour because my kids wanted to do it, and it was pretty much what I expected. Cheesy jokes, very little information (and some misinformation) about the city. (According to our guide the library currently under construction is behind schedule because the engineers forgot the weight of the books. Really??? Strange, I've heard that urban myth in a... More

Maybe children would enjoy this, but it seems to this adult pretty much like a rip-off. Tour guide commentary is almost impossible to hear due to the loud noises the engines make as the bus drives through the streets and on the water. Not much information is given about many interesting buildings and the emphasis seems to be on the... More

As this was my first time in Halifax I wanted an overview tour of the city and its history. Our guide was a Dalhousie graduate earning summer pay to start law school in the fall. He was extremely knowledgeable and humorous (as was the driver Dave) : "Wave to the people on the street... (which we did) and if they... More

Our group of 4 (2 children) were most surprised how unamusing this ended up being. Our guide talked too loud and non stop over bad speakers. After it was over, the kids commented that the ferry is more fun.I do enjoy the other harbour rides, but this a big NO NO.
