I grew up going to L-town beach. It was always a little colder than Rainbow Haven, only because it's not as sheltered.

Surf the cold north atlantic. Not far from Halifax. Bring your cold water surfing suits tho as the water is rather cold.

not my first time here, but always worth returning for a few hours to play in the waves and enjoy the beach. Water is usually on the cold side, but you can rent wet suits and boogy/surf boards to have some fun.

Lawrence beach was out of this world... so beautiful! and yes, we were swimming, even though the water was indeed quite cold. the waves were high up and it was a lot of fun to just play there and jump the waves! there were a number of surfers in the water too... For a great panorama, we suggest you stop... More

This is the most amazing place for surfing. But for swimming in the section I went, where the little restaurant, too much big waves. I had a lot of fun with my friends but for someone with a little family, the waves are so big than the little Joey should let is life in the water...

Lawrencetown is great for viewing waves or surfing them. But if neither are your thing and you're looking for more of sand and relaxation, likely not the place. If the water is by chance (rare) warm enough, taking a dip can be fun.

This is a nice beach to visit while driving around the south shore. It's mostly rocky but it is very beautiful.

Certainly not a beach upon which to throw down your beach towel but beautiful in it's rugged beauty, impressive surf and view of dare devil surfers.

Great waves for surfing. Better than Tofino, BC. Well; different, at least. Logan Landry's home beach for surfing, so that has to tell you something. Always a sea breeze in this part of the Atlantic although the undertow is nothing to sneeze about. Use caution.... Otherwise, great vistas and a nice hiking trail near by. Recommend a visit for whatever... More

Grew up by this beach so I cannot say anything bad about the beach other than watch out for the undertows since they can be deadly. Great beach for surfing, boogie boarding and simple trying not to be wiped off your feet by the waves!! Great fun place!!
