While small, this museum is crammed with interesting artifacts and history, in an historical building, The smallish rooms constrain the exhibit spaces and there is nothing "high tech." That said, we thoroughly enjoyed the museum, taking a bit over an hour to see it all, and had great conversation with the knowledgeable docents.

Downstairs is like walking back in time 100 or more years ago---rooms and manicans were set and dressed for the day upstairs my family and I were able to dig back in time for our lineage that came from Digby and beyond with the masterful guidance and help of the assistants at the museum. We had already quite a bit... More

While in town doing some family history research, we decided to pop into the Genealogy research area upstairs. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

For the size of town, it was really well done. We enjoyed our time there. If you have ancestors from the area, they offer very inexpensive research/

Even just getting to the Admiral Digby Museum is a trip and I mean trip in a wonderful way. The landscape and the people are simply amazing. Spend some time wondering about and it's a stop you'll soon forget. If you have time take some time to visit Bear River - that seaside village is a whole another world altogether.
