I live in Dartmouth and if a tourist needed some fresh food he might go there or take the ferry to Halifax and enjoy the much larger Farmer's market along the waterfront. On a few occasions there might be an ARTISTIC event Cruise Ships dock on the Halifax side.

We are so fortunate to have this facility in our great city. The Farmers Market is one of the best around, the theatre is superb and the children's activities cannot be beat.

Great spot to visit on a Saturday morning. Lots of vendors, wonderful pastries and live music at 10 am. If you are staying in Halifax take the ferry over for a nice view of the harbour and avoid worrying about traffic and parking.

Loved the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. The seafood spot to the right facing the harbour that is open daily is terrific. reasonable prices and the seafood chowder was very good and their haddock lightly breaded ,fresh and wonderful. The ferry landing is fun to ride or just watch from the benches inside or out side. The library is also... More

Great place to buy local produce and baked goods. Many other vendors there on Saturday. The produce is always fresh, the baked goods are home made. The crafts are all made by local people. Parking is usually busy but not hard to find. Get there early on Saturday fro best selection.

Alderney Landing is the Dartmouth water front, right across the harbour from Halifax. Many functions are held there throughout the year, especially the summer months. There is a large indoor theatre where events are held, plus an outdoor stage and plaza. So it can be exciting or quiet depending on what's going on at the time. You will have an... More

Plenty of parking, a few restaurants, but little to encourage you to stay Dartmouth side and not pop across to Halifax. Best place to park if staying on the Dartmouth side and visiting Halifax.

I took my Grandaughter to the morning library program. It was well organized some games & crafts. there was a lot of people there, maybe a few to many. We both enjoyed it and will go again.

Some great views of Halifax on the waterfront from Alderney Landing. There is a Word Peace Pavilion located there with chunks of the Great Wall of China and the Berlin Wall inside a pyramid shaped outdoor museum ! A must see!! Great location and lots of lawn space to have a picnic.

Saw a great concert during Celtic week at the Alderney Landing outdoor stage: JK and the Pixie Dusters. Great acoustics, excellent scenery (Halifax harbour in the background). Had to bring our own chairs...
