Limited choices in the winter months but there are some interesting booths with local artisans. The summer has fresh local farm stalls. There is also a butcher shop. Can't remember the name of the Indian food stall but the food was very tasty. I have heard the theatre puts on some great shows but I have not been there in... More

This is a real gathering stop now and good for walking along the Boardwalk and getting the ferry to Halifax. So ask for a transfer and you can get a return trip for the price of one. As long as you are back in 2 hours or so. the market on the weekend is busy and packed with vendors and... More

Went here for a quick bite after work with colleagues. Good selection of finger foods. We shared a pizza and nachos. Waiter was attentive. I liked that you can take the ferry from Halifax side, relax from a long day at work and then walk from the ferry inside to the restaurant. The view is wonderful.

After arriving by ferry you can have a quick walk around but not a great deal to see. They do have markets and the occasional concert etc. but not on the day we visited.

We went specifically to Alderney plaza for Evans restaurant. There is a Visitors InfoCenter and there were some tables of things being sold, but we were distracted by sopme kind of ? field trip outing There were some shops but nothing that was really outstanding. It is worth seeing just to go to Evans.

When there is a festival or special event going on, it is a good area to be in. Not much of a draw otherwise. Lots of panhandlers around always. Be aware of your surroundings.

For just a few dollars, you can ride the ferry, from Halifax to Dartmouth, and tour the area by walking. Alderney Landing is clean, and offers the tourist a gateway to Dartmouth. The shops & restaurants are just a short walk away. Enjoy!

The market and alderney landing has finally come of age. Even with the management of the place. It seems to finally have a life of its own and rivals that of the halifax market now. the shows that are put on here still not the best and it still is lacking in consistency but it is getting better. Do enjoy... More

If you're staying at the Holiday Inn Express, it's a short stroll down to the waterfront... where you'll find a quaint liquor store with a good selection of wines... as well as a friendly market with lots of local / organic cheeses and snacks. Perfect to stock the minibar fridge!
