We saw the lake from the Highland Village & Museum which was situated on top of a hill. Looks stunning on a bright sunny day.

This is a beautiful and huge lake! We stayed at the Keltic Quay and stayed right on the lake. There are islands to drive to and a scenic drive around the lake!

Drive down the North side of this lovely scenic area by coming off at the first exit at Baddeck and driving down along the coast. Take a visit at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum while you are there. It was a lovely drive. Relax, go slow and enjoy.

Oh, how I love Bras d'Or Lake, especially in Baddeck. The incredibly refreshing lightly salted water (brackish just sounds negative to me), the greenery surrounding its shores, the flights of the bald eagles and the relatively sparse population within the surrounding towns. With all that said, I would only venture out to Bras d'Or during late Spring, Summer and early... More

Very pretty. Stayed on East Bay right on the water! Camped on family property. All in all wherever you go on Cape Breton Island you will enjoy the scenery.

The lake is large with many views from ,towns around lake. Stayed in Baddeck for one night ,ate dinner and had lake view.Very pretty and adds a lot of interest to the surrounding areas with this unique saltwaterc lake. Would have liked to try a lake cruise or water sports, didn't have time though.

This is your typical lake. Not sure what the big deal is about it. We are staying right across it, so had the opportunity to visit it multiple times

This was a real surprise on our trip around Cape Breton. We had not expected the lake to be as spectacular and we enjoyed the opportunities to stop and take the views.

It is impossible to separate this saltwater inland sea from the Island that surrounds it. The UNESCO designation of the watershed as a biosphere reserve is the International recognition of the uniqueness of the lakes and their surrounding land masses. There are many ways to get to know this area: by foot, by bicycle, by car, by boat, and by... More
