We spent about three hours walking through these gardens and photographing them. They are beautiful and also provide history about the types of gardening that have been done in this area. Each section of the garden has a placard with information about the area. You can tell that it's getting on in the growing season, but there is still much... More

Amazing, beautiful and peaceful garden. A real gem. Easy to walk through (no big hills). Interesting mix of plants - most are labeled. Example of Acadian farming/dikes. We spent about an hour there.

What a treasure Nova Scotian's have in their backyard. This Historical Garden is such a time saving remnant of the past. Sometime's in our busy lives we forget how how much a stroll through some wonderful colorful flower's and the beauty of the surrounding tree's can be to our inner soul. Wow, what a lovely experience for anyone to feel... More

This is a beautiful way yo spend a sunny afternoon. It took us about 1-1/2 hours to stroll through the beautiful acreage. It was warm with a nice breeze in late August. Sadly, the restaurant was closed for the season, which we found very disappointing. Why close your restaurant so early? I can understand clawing in colder oaths, but good... More

We visited in mid-August. Although the bloom was off some of the roses, it was still a very worthwhile visit - lots of colour, shade & tranquility. It rates right up there with Butchart Gardens in BC.

Stopped by on our was from Digby to Windsor. We took the tour, definately worth it. We learned a lot about the plants and trees and even more about the history of Nova Scotia and Acadian culture. And the flowers are truly lovely.

One of the most beautiful 17 acres of landscaping you will find. The rose, victorian and innovative gardens are incredible. Be sure to take your camera for this one.

We were visiting friends in AR and they took us to the Historic Gardens. If you like gardens, or appreciate a quiet place with a wonderful diversity of plants, this is for you. Unlike many great gardens, this place has a relaxed feel - you feel that is was designed for regular people, not horticultural experts (although they would find... More
