We went ocean kayaking while staying in St John's. It took about an hour to get to Cape Broyle and well worth the drive. All the staff and guides are lovely, friendly and so hospitable. We had Stan lead our tour and he was fantastic- very funny and knowledgeable. One of the best tours I have ever been on. Thanks... More

This afternoon kayak tour with Stan Cook's biologist trip leader was tied with walking the amazing Skerwink Trail for the best moments of our trip to Newfoundland! Our happy bunch was about 10 people, aged 18-70. The bay they run their trips out of is very large with side coves to explore, a waterfalls, a scary/fun skinny rock cave to... More

My boyfriend, friend, and I did the 2 hour kayak tour around the cove. It was an amazing time and we told everyone about it for days. However, we were a bit disappointed when we realized we wouldn't be kayaking out of the cove, only around it, which meant there was no opportunity to see any whales. Next time we... More

Kayaking around the rugged landscape was a cool experience. The 2 1/2 hours tow and go package allowed us to see more of the bay. Slightly disappointed that we didn't see any whales. The equipment was well maintained and the outfit service was excellent.

My wife and I went kayaking with Stan in June. We learned tons about the local ecology as he pulled up sea urchins and showed us swarms of capelin under our kayaks. Amazing to kayak into sea caves and through gaps in the rocks. We could see whales in the distance - and then they got closer and closer. We... More

We did the 2.5 hour tow and go with a family of four. It was great. The guides were very nice and informative. The ride is not too strenuous with lots of stops. Make sure when you go you stop at the fish packing plant across the street and buy some scallops and crab legs. it added to the trip

We had visited NL twice and planned our 3rd visit around a "Go and Tow" with Stan Cook. It was well worth the wait. Their Cape Broyale location is accessible. The Cooks and staff meet and greet you warmly and you immediately feel a sense of fun; however, they are all business when it comes to your safety. We were... More

We went the first week in June 2013 and had a great time. It's designed for all skill levels and we enjoyed learning the local knowledge from all three tour guides. Mr. Stan Cook has a great sense of humour and kept us laughing the entire time. It's a quick drive from St. John's ( just under an hour) and... More

If you are adventurous enough to get in a sea kayak I highly recommend this tour. You have the option of doing a longer go-and-tow where you kayak out further and get towed back into the harbour, or you can do a two hour tour where you do not go out as far but kayak yourself the entire way. I... More

Did the two hour tour which was very good. Easy to find and staff were nice. I was playing phone tag with the operators at Stan Cook to book a time for 4 days so I emailed them to request 2 single person kayaks for the two hour tour. When we got there we were told that we weren't allowed... More
