The ECT is an incredible thing to behold. A short review can't do it justice. With a wide variety of trails over almost 300 km of shoreline, there is something for almost every level of hiker, from afternoon trips on gentle trails trips to multi-day hikes over rough terrain. The trails are well marked and easy to follow, so the... More

We have hiked several trails from Cape Spear to La Manche. Every trail is spectacularily maintained. Able to walk dogs off leash as long as they are in sight of you. Often times we only meet 1-2 groups when we go and there are no better places to take picture upon picture. The view and trail is amazing on every... More

Each weekend we head out on the east coast trail. Our favourite one is from Flatrock to Pouch Cove. It has a variety of elevations, levels of difficulty, breathtaking ocean views etc. The distance is approximately 15 km which we do normally in 4 hours including a little break for our picnic lunch. We will certainly miss this natural beauty... More

Not for the weekend walker but well worth the 16 Km hike. The views are extraordinary but you will need extra socks and water. We did the hike in 7 hours with 2, 30 - 45 minute stops, the second at Freshwater Bay .. the first at the waterfall (if you know where it is great, if not sorry but... More

We did two sections of the trail around Cape Spear and one around Witless Bay. Terrific views, beautiful trails. Moderate, a little rough.

It was foggy that day, but it made it special, like if we were in Narnia :) You need a car to get there unless you want to walk the 17 kms

My wife and I hiked to the suspension bridge in La Manche. It was a great day, with an easy to walk trail. Note that if you are trying to find this from town, take the dirt road on the left directly after La Manche Provincial Park(about 2 minutes apast). Go to the end of the dirt road*(about 5 minutes... My husband and I walked the East coast trail and although we enjoyed it , I would recommend wearing good footwear, take lots to drink and have a good sense of direction .....If you are the adventurous type then be sure to grab a few friends and walk the trail . There are many places for photos along the way... More
