Many pubs on George street with live entertainment. We went on labour day weekend and every where was really quiet. More

Am I a snob? This street talked about by everyone seemed a bit sleezy with bar after bar, strip club etc. We found that for good food and fun that Water Street was more to our liking. More

This is one of the greatest drinking destinations in the world! If you want to take in live Newfoundland music and down a few pints this is the place! Approx 4 blocks of pure pubs and restaurants. Most of the pubs are local music taste but there is a few places such as dusk / sundance that plays top 40,... More

I recommend to anyone who go to Newfoundland for the first time to go to St-John's, there are many bars on George Street but try to find one that will know what your talking about when you ask them to be 'screech in' you will then become an official newfoundlander, I don't want you to know exactly what is consist... After being recommended the "George Street pub crawl" by locals, I was hoping for a bit more. It's about 3 blocks of clubs and bars, on a Thursday night pumping out music. The street is pedestrian-only, and at midnight was full of young folks in jeans, plaid shirts and miniskirts about as short as legally allowed. I don't want to... More

Memphis has Beale Street, New Orlean Bourbon Street, St. John's George Street. I'm not much on nightlife and getting a bit old for this sort of thing, but Geprge Street has something for everybody. Good pubs, lots of food. All casual. Young people will like this the most. More

Of course George street is famous; but why? In the evenings this short stretch of road turns into the very definition of night life! Music of every style is pumping out of every bar, pub, dance club in the strip. There are people of all ages having fun everywhere you turn. All you need to do is choose one that... More

George street is where its at on a Thursday. Friday or Saturday night. Go to Christians to get screeched; but, keep in mind that the process starts after 10:30 PM; so, be prepared to be out late if you are working the next day. More

Never realized how ROMANTIC this street is! My husband (minus the kids ;) decided to take an evening stroll down George Street, we had an awesome evening filled with great drinks and food, and fabulous entertainment at every place we visited! It's such a diverse mixture that it makes the whole experience one that everyone should take in! More
