I started at the Battery Rd entrance, which winds through an eclectic assortment of small houses on the water, to the trail. The trail itself is right on the cliffs and can be treacherous if you're not paying attention or if it's wet. After seeing pictures of this place for months it was amazing to land in St John's on a long weekend in May in the pouring rain and finally see Signal Hill. A few days later we went up there as we were staying south if St John's in Tors Cove and it was also a blustery day but not raining.... more
