The lowdown on Acadians

This Acadian Museum on the Campus of the Université of Moncton is a great spot to learn all about the Acadian history over the years. The guided tours will take your through 400 years of history with the help of photos, maps and objects. A great place to learn about the Acadian heritage here in the Maritimes and how they... More

Having no knowledge of the Acadians, save for reading Longfellow's "Evangeline" at some point during my schooling, this was a real treat. It is a lesson both in history and culture. One of the focal points of our group tour was to study the Acadians, and this museum really sewed together all the various threads we had been introduced to... More

We loved this little museum!! Gave us a better understanding of the Acadians and the museum was setup both chronologically but also covered stories/events that I had heard of. Evangeline's legend/story is very well explained and was very interesting!! A must see!!

The acadiens were French immigrants that have developed agriculture in Acadie (now Nova Scotia). It is explained in full details in the museum and it also provides an insight in the culture of the Acadiens who still exist in North America.... More

The Acadian Museum is an extremely well put together history of the Acadian people. It is extremely informative. Unfortunately when we were there a couple of the recorded talks were out of order. Definitely worth a visit.

This Museum is steeped in History. To appreciate what it offers one should research the Acadians, Evangeline (Nova Scotia). It is beautiful here in the spring when the Apple trees are in blossom.

This small museum, located on the campus of the Université de Moncton, offers an excellent overview of Acadian history and culture in New Brunswick. They even recommended Acadian CDs to me - and... More
