Something interesting to do in Moncton

The staff at the Acadian Museum is by far the most knowledgeable people on Acadian history. They train the student staff here very well and are always willing to go the extra mile.

Interesting topics that change on a regular basis. Staff are very informative and layout of displays allows ample time to take everything in separately. Everything has a hint of Acadian history tucked inside the displays. A treat for all Acadians and their heritage. A hidden jewel on the campus of the Universite de Moncton.

I don't consider Moncton the go-to place for activities, but this museum was interesting if you like history. Everything is in English and French and it's easy to follow. They did have some odd separate exhibit about Zidine (yep, the footballer) and I didn't understand the connection, basically just a movie, but if you like soccer then maybe you will... More

I had not visited this museum before, had company from B.C on a rainy day decided to visit. To my surprise we all found the information interesting and help us understand some of the hardships and experiences incountered by the Acadians. Very well done, the staff pleasant and accommodating. A must see.

It was a rainy day. So my wife and I explored the Acadian museum. The dioramas and explanatory exhibits are excellent and very educational. We appreciated the exhibits being expressed in both English and French. The highlight of our visit was the two post-graduate students free personal information about the Acadian history. They were working at the desk but had... More

This museum does an amazing job explaining the history of the Acadians. Detailed geography, original Acadian flag, vent an Academy Award won by an Acadian and donated - just a great way to spend an afternoon. Imperative signs are bilingual.

Having no knowledge of the Acadians, save for reading Longfellow's "Evangeline" at some point during my schooling, this was a real treat. It is a lesson both in history and culture. One of the focal points of our group tour was to study the Acadians, and this museum really sewed together all the various threads we had been introduced to... More
