Grand Manan Island is a place everyone should visit at least once. The island was comprpised of fishing villages many years ago prior to becoming an artists sanctuary. It is unique in that the topography is some of the most diverse on the planet and all taking place on one island. The villages are quaint and the people very friendly... More

This island is near the attractions near the Bay of Fundy, Its a hidden gem, full of history, charm and unique, naturalistic experiences. Have you ever seen how dulse is harvested? That's one of the things one sees here. It is an unspoiled island, reached by ferry, with just a few cabin rental. However, the magnificent "Anchorage" Campground is really... More

The maritimes never ceases to amaze me and this little island gem is no exception. This was my first visit and certainly not my last. Grand Manan is truly a time capsule to a simpler time and way of life, untouched by commercialization. An outdoor enthusiast paradise. Gives new meaning to the phrase "be in this place."

Aptly named "Queen of the Fundy Isles", Grand Manan island is indeed a gem. If shopping or night life is your thing, Grand Manan is perhaps not the place for you. If, however, you enjoy peaceful surroundings, stunning coastal scenery, hiking, birding, whale watching and friendly people, this is the place for you. If you plan to camp on Grand... More

This island is the best place on earth, hands down. Peaceful, scenic, wonderful food, friendly people. You name it. My family has been vacationing here for over 20 years now, it still hasn't gotten old. There's still so much to do and see and experience. Great place to whale watch. Great places to stay where it's quiet, clean, good rates.... More

What a place. Just go relax and unwind. No crowds just lovely beaches, althought the water can be chilly even in the summer, fantastic people and no nightlife. Make sure you visit the bakery I'm sure you will.

We decided to go to Grand Manan on a whim for a long weekend. We got a spot on the ferry no problem and found a campsite that day as well. Lucky for us the weather held up and it didn't rain until we were leaving. I think there is a pretty good chance of being fogged in quite often... More

Grand Manan is a beautiful island worth a visit. Peaceful, not a lot to do if you are into finding pubs or nightlife. Yet for nature lovers this is the spot to walk the trails, Whale Cove, Net Point, Stanley Beach, and you must walk to Swallowtail Lighthouse. Everyone we met was very friendly. helpful, and greatly added to our... More

Grand Manan was a true fisherman's town. It was very peaceful and filled with locals. There are shops and cafes that support local commerce and the views are breathtaking. Every way you turn is a postcard view. Dinner spots are not abundant but there are many great spots for a morning cup of joe. If you want a low key,... More
