Grand Manan is a beautiful island worth a visit. Peaceful, not a lot to do if you are into finding pubs or nightlife. Yet for nature lovers this is the spot to walk the trails, Whale Cove, Net Point, Stanley Beach, and you must walk to Swallowtail Lighthouse. Everyone we met was very friendly. helpful, and greatly added to our... More

Grand Manan was a true fisherman's town. It was very peaceful and filled with locals. There are shops and cafes that support local commerce and the views are breathtaking. Every way you turn is a postcard view. Dinner spots are not abundant but there are many great spots for a morning cup of joe. If you want a low key,... More

This is a beautiful island for people who enjoy nature. Lots of trails and beach line(rocky) to hike. Plenty to do on the water. Lots of birds. On the chilly side of course, but very beautiful. Some great cottages to rent. Be sure to go to the lobster place where they raise and harvest lobsters. You can actually stand on... More

You do not need a tropical Island to find Paradise. If you are looking to unwind, escape the hustle and bustle and take a step back in time to a more innocent time, where time is kept by the sounding of the Ferry's horn and the rise and fall of the tide....Grand Manan is your perfect destination. No malls, No... More

if you are looking for an authentic, quaint get away that also has the benefit of a friendly, helpful and kind community, Grand Manan is the place. Lovely shop keepers, great local eateries and scenic places to explore. This was my second year visiting and I hope to return for many more. I am not letting a bad cottage rental... More

My husband and I are eagerly awaiting our annual visit to Grand Manan which is coming up soon. We have made the trip almost every year for over 20 years now and never tire of this beautiful place. The first years we only stayed for one week but for the last few years we have been able to stay for... More

We sailed to Grand Manan and stayed for a weekend in late June. The island is beautiful, not crowded (at least at this time), and all the residents were exceptionally helpful and friendly. There is a hiking trail around the Island perimeter which follows the tops of the high bluffs in most places with some nice campsites on the bluffs,... More

We had just invested a glorious sunny day on deer Isle and decided to see what Grand Manan had to offer. Although there are the same fishing coves and rock formations, the major difference is the Swallowtail Lighthouse on the point. Once you reach this spot you really have a hard time pulling away to see the rest of the... More

Don't expect the amenities of urban life when you visit this beautiful island, with its friendly people. But it's a great place to visit to chill out, recharge one's batteries, all the while taking advantage of it's fantastic coastal trail network, photo-friendly fishing villages, and sea food.
