We arrived at the zoo at 3:00pm to see the polar bear exhibit. The zoo closes at 4:00pm after Thanksgiving, which is in October in Canada. We hurried across the zoo to see the polar bears to discover it was closed. We did see one sleeping bear in a field-like exhibit.at 3:30, they started making announcements of closing.

Sculpture garden was beautiful. Seeing polar bears, wolves, muskox in their new habitat was exciting. Not so impressed with the lodgings for the big cats, heard their quarters will be updated too. Hopefully soon.

Very nice lots to do for children and lots to see for adults. The children's park with the great set up of tunnels oversize chairs to climb on and play facilities kept everyone happy

There is nothing about this park that I could honestly say that I don.t like. At any time of the year the park has a different face to show its visitors, especially in the height of summer. This year the Polar Bears stole the show in the newly opened Visit to Churchill where the white bears were visible in their... More

This park has several sites not to be missed, including the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden (spectacularly presented outdoor sculpture garden), plant Conservatory, Zoo, a permanent art gallery with a remarkable collection by the historic Canadian artist Walter J. Phillips, an English Garden, and beautiful green spaces. Allow several hours. Free entry to most areas other than the Zoo. Ample free... More

I was in town to meet with a couple of attorneys to take care of an estate situation for one of my clients. I live in Los Angeles, so I found the people in Winnipeg to be very nice. After one of the meetings the attorney offered to take me and my colleague to lunch. He took us to the... More

I am a native born Winipegger and grew up in Assiniboine Park as a fun place. My daughter and her boyfriend came to visit from Victoria, and we went to the Duck Pond last night for nostalgia reasons. WHAT POND??? It is a stinky garbage filled swamp, and we could not stay due to the millions of mosquitoes trying to... More
