In response to this businesses remarks regarding my review- perhaps you should learn something from the reviews you've had. Maybe it's fortunate for you that the rest of the tourists that were on this same trip as the three of us didn't write a review. We ALL felt the same. Learn from it instead of lashing out.

I thought I was being quite polite in my response -- I did not lash out but rather offered a different perspective. I'll try again. A agree some people are not as successful as others but still enjoy the experience we offer (everyone finds something) and some people just cannot be pleased as their expectations are too high. Cheers. More

I was there a few years ago when I first moved here. Went on this expensive, dig for your own opals. Was a brutal trip in the hills and the group of us got to go through the rubble that had already been shredded for opals.... good luck trying to find anything. a long day really hard on your vehicle,... Out of all the people who have gone to our site to dig for opal there have been a handful who have complained and you are one. Check out this story to see the other side. Following is an excerpt from an article published by Castanet titled 'Treasure-hunter-unearths-opals'. See pictures on our Facebook page and look up the rest of... More

This is a cool little attraction to squeeze in if you have time. You can either go to just the gift shop which is reasonably priced considering it is real opal. Or you can go up to the mine and for $50 you can go and mine and take up to 5 pounds worth of opal, or materials you find.... More

We stopped in here at the recommendation of fellow RVers across the street from this shop. It's like someone turned the front of their house into a storefront. You could hear someone doing dishes behind the shelves and a peak through the curtain showed someone has been sleeping on the couch with child's toys spread around. A man mumbled some... More

Sorry, I must have been looking after my wife who is fighting cancer and cleaning up in the kitchen. Obviously our shop attendant was not there to greet you and I did not realize that. There was a bell to ring or perhaps you could have spoken out. The toys belong to my grand daughter who was spending some time... More

My husband and I went here and were very disappointed. For $100 for two people, this is a rip off. I grew up with a professional prospector in my family and have a degree in Geology. I was looking forward to going to the Opal mine, as it was at the top of my list of things to do in... More

Dear Disappointed: Thank you for your comments. Most people enjoy the experience and many find opal that been turned into fine jewellery. Sorry your trip did not work out as you expected. I assume by your comments that you were one of the persons that had to be asked to get out of the area we have developed for mining... More

I went to the gift shop today to book an putting with this company and was very disappointed! The lady at the shop was grumpy and her tone was that the business was too busy to get me in for 3-4 weeks. As I'm only in the area for a few weeks I was a bit upset. The gift shop... More

We do apologize for any perceived grumpiness or unpleasant tone. We always try to greet and treat our customers with the utmost respect and friendliness. We had a number of groups in our store on Monday June 17, 2013; one of which was asking about booking a opal digging day trip. We advised that no bookings were available until July... More

The kids love to take a look and learn about the different stones and my wife and I always find neat stuff we would like to take home. The owner is very informative and more then helpful to... More

We went to the opal mine in August 2012 for my daughter's birthday experience as she loves rocks and gems and jewelry. We'd been to the shop on a previous holiday two years earlier and learned about the "You Dig" opportunity. Bob and his wife (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name) are the nicest people and were very helpful... More
