Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

I've posted a review of this park before. It's a gem in Vernon. So well kept! I walk in here every morning. It's one klm around via the paved road. It has fabulous trees, beautiful flowers, a pond with an ogopogo fountain and lots of sweet ducks and geese that love to be fed. Oh, and it has out door... More

It's a beautiful park in the middle of Vernon that everyone can enjoy. I run on the track and watch the tennis players, the children playing in the water park, and various events being hosted at the bandstand. I sometimes go through the boardwalk and enjoy nature at it's best. Good Job keeping this park clean and staying on top... More

I grew up in Vernon and went to school in Polson park. We spent time relaxing by the creek, playing tennis. Enjoying the peace at the Japanese Garden. Our Physical Education classes we in the Track and Field oval. Little League Baseball at the Grandstands. Frisbee in the grassy field. Now 40 years later I appreciate how wonderful the park... More

We have visited Polson Park a number of times in the past few months. Each time we have very much enjoyed our visit. There are many attractions. The ducks and geese, other birds and critters such as squirrels and turtles, the pond, the bridges, waterfalls, the peaceful Japanese garden area, and space to just relax and breathe - all are... Right at the entrance to Vernon (coming from Kelowna) is this large municipal park. It has beautiful grounds with lots of trees and greenery. Within the park there is a paved path ideal for bikes, trikes, wheelchairs and strollers. The playground is a popular meeting place of young Mom's enjoying a cup of coffee and chat with other Mom's while... More

This park is well-organized, and comfortable to stroll through. For the adventurous, there is the occasionally muddy southern end. Overall, it's laid out very nicely, and while not short of the usual modern amenities, it still manages to exude a naive sort of Edwardian charm. Parking can get a bit scarce during events, though!

Having driven by this park hundreds of times, we took the opportunity to stop in when our whole family came to visit. What a beautiful well kept park. It offers a vast area for the kids to run around, with a large duck pond and a great playground area for kids to enjoy. The park was very clean, had ample... More

This is a real gem in the heart of Vernon and has some truly extensive, well maintained, and superlative playground equipment for the kids. The community spirit here is amazing as some moms will actually take turns at various locations around the equipment to keep the kids safe. There will be one mom at the top of the slides keeping... Quiet refuge park in the middle of the city on Hwy 97, the Alaska Highway. Lovely Swans and geese etc on the ponds. Also there is a large flower clock on the side of an embankment.
