Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

Neat and clean room courteous staff. Good location and close to all amenities. My family enjoyed our stay there. Will stay there if I will go there.

The City of Vernon has a real challenge on its hands. This formerly beautiful park has now been taken over by "street people", druggies and prostitutes from all reports of locals and the local press. One is, apparently, not safe to enter the park after dark. This used to be a great place to take the family but not anymore.

Although I love Polson Park because of it's location and it's beauty I don't feel safe there alone or with just my kids. It is home to a lot of transient people. Not all bad but there is enough drug exchanges and other scretchy activity that happens there. Make sure you are in a good size group. It would be... More

Poison Park is a lovely spot to stop and take a walk in or stop for lunch which you brought with you. Be sure to bring some pellet food which ducks and geese enjoy because they will become all around you looking for handouts.

Birds, flowers, landscaping and people watching. Nice shady place to "chill" in the heat! Visiting Polson is a family tradition: over 50 years of enjoyment so far!

We visited here & enjoyed walking around the park. The floral clock was amazing. The Japanese garden was disappointing as the little river running through it was dry. We fed the ducks. The man made pond with the ogopogo was neat. Well maintained grounds. It's definately worth a stop if you are in the area.

Polson Park is a lovely, beautifully landscaped area close to the South end of the city. The creek runs through the park, providing a place for the children to feed the ducks or a charming backdrop for a picnic. Grassy areas are available for the children to run, play games or cool off in the water park near the playground.... More
