The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts. « less

This is a large, well-maintained park that was well-used by seniors and young families on the midday Thursday that we visited. We enjoyed the Polson Park nature trail - it was peaceful, well-kept and the signage was good.

Nice, well maintained park and playground. Lots of ducks and geese! There is a creek that runs through the park...nice to walk along and relax.

Grandkids loved feeding the ducks, and playing on the equipment? It is so close to town -a perfect oasis from the hustle of the city.

Beautiful park which is well set up with ponds for the ducks, a playground and a spray water park. My kids love going here to feed the ducks and play. I would stay out of the park once evening comes though because there have been criminal activities there and the park does not have the best reputation at night.

We enjoyed a couple of hours at the park on a super hot afternoon. The spray park was perfect for our 3 year old, and it was nice to have a shady area to sit and watch him from. We also walked through the gardens, over bridges, past duck ponds. The park also features a clean and new modern bathroom... More

Absolutely love Polson Park. The flowers are in full bloom, the swan was present, the Canada geese were all their. Nice they removed most of the fence from around the track. Would be nice if they removed it all, however I am sure there is a reason it's not all down.

Great location in downtown Vernon. Lots of shade trees for the hot summer. Good climbing equipment. Has a sprinkler water park, a big duck and goose pond. Lots of picnic tables and benches to just sit and relax.

This is a lovely park for strolling around, for taking a blanket with you & stretching out for a nap, or taking time for reading a book. Water babbles quietly in the background. Ducks waddle everywhere, looking for some friendly people to share their lunch. The park is filled with a wide variety of beautiful flowers and is always very... More

In Vernon for the weekend it ended up raining most of the time but that didn't stop us from visiting Polson Park and we are very glad that it didn't. This is a great place to wander and take a break from any stresses. We grabbed a coffee and some breakfast and strolled for about an hour in the early... More
