The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts. « less

Nice spot for a picnic and a great waterpark for kids. You can stroll the river as well and feed the ducks and geese. Really clean park but be careful for geese poop!!!!

majority of the park very pretty - the bird definately took over by the water - lots of mess and lots of birds - alittle too many for us.

This park has it all; it is close to the Arts and Science Centre. It has a creek flowing through it, ponds, beautiful old trees, pavilions... it's mostly old fashioned, but well-maintained; there are new washrooms (hooray!) and so much space for kids to run around, plenty to explore. Go in the spring, summer, or fall, and take a picnic.

We went to Polson Park on a very hot day and really enjoyed the running water and huge shade trees. Ducks by the hundreds and very tame. Lots of waking paths under shade trees. A wonderful water park for kids to play and a grandstand for local performers. We had a great time and we are seniors.

We love this park. It is beautifully kept and fun for our grandaughter as she loves the playground and water park. I love the creek running through it and the Japanese and rose gardens. My big problem with the park is the fact that it will not permit dogs on a leash. If you allow dogs only on a leash and... More

Polson park is a nice park with ponds, ducks, etc. There is a playground and water park for the kids. All in all, it is a nice park at the edge of Vernon, literally as the commercial space begins. There is ample parking and it is fairly easy to access from two different locations. Just stay away from it in... More

Polson Park is located right on highway 97-- so travellers can make the stop even if they only have an hour or two to spare. It also is a nice break for family......close to amenities. Kids can run around and see ducks and swans on the nice creek that runs thru the park.
