As most have said, this is fairly unassuming building ... it has a small room with lots of displays and bugs ... only worth it it to follow the tour guide, and get lots of info and hold the bugs. Complete tour lasts roughly an hour but we spent 2 hrs there with a 2 yr old ... really smart... More

My boys (6 & 8) loved this spot. It is a small museum with lots to look at. Definitely take advantage of the staff giving the tour. The kids got to touch and hold all kinds of bugs.

If you love bugs, this is the place. They have lots of bugs and let the kids touch them. It's quite small so you pay for the novelty. Unless you seriously love bugs, you might find this overpriced. But on a rainy day in Victoria there aren't a lot of choices for kids. The people who work there are super friendly... More

We followed the signs off Douglas street and ended up going through some labyrinth of halls and such in a large structure following the "to shops" and "bug zoo" signs. The actual entrance is on another street but we got there, which would have been instantly "there" but we had followed a sign from the street instead. I've never been... More

If they spent as much on the "Zoo" as they did on all the signage used to guide people to them they may actually have something worth seeing. Alas. ...don't waste your time.

We took our children to the Bug Zoo and paid around $48 for 2 adults and 2 children. There was only a few things to see. We probably looked at everything and were out within half an hour. For the price we paid, there should have been enough stuff to see and do to take a couple of hours. Very... More

The bug zoo is essentially one room lined with terrariums along the wall. But there are lots of insects and arachnids to see. In addition, there is a guide who made her way around the room a tank at a time, teaching and pulling out some of the insects to let us hold or touch. Highly recommend for a 1-2... More

As many other comments describe, this place is small. Really small. But come on, it is not like they are keeping elephants ... There are a lot of bugs, that's why it is a bug zoo, dah. A soon as you get your stamp and enter, look were is a tour guide and follow around. Does not matter if it... More

Went here today with my mom and brother, and the service and the tour was informative and friendly. However, the area is quite small and after 10 - 30 minutes, you've seen everything (unless you take the tour that is, however the three of us are more hands on and like to go off on our own). There was a... More

The bug zoo was not a very big place but has a lot of different bugs that we don't see everyday. It's an educational place for all ages and a fun place for kids. note for parents: keep your children close to you and ask them to WALK inside the zoo. There were few bugs that the staff would let...
