We took our children to the Bug Zoo and paid around $48 for 2 adults and 2 children. There was only a few things to see. We probably looked at everything and were out within half an hour. For the price we paid, there should have been enough stuff to see and do to take a couple of hours. Very... More

The bug zoo is essentially one room lined with terrariums along the wall. But there are lots of insects and arachnids to see. In addition, there is a guide who made her way around the room a tank at a time, teaching and pulling out some of the insects to let us hold or touch. Highly recommend for a 1-2... More

As many other comments describe, this place is small. Really small. But come on, it is not like they are keeping elephants ... There are a lot of bugs, that's why it is a bug zoo, dah. A soon as you get your stamp and enter, look were is a tour guide and follow around. Does not matter if it... More

Went here today with my mom and brother, and the service and the tour was informative and friendly. However, the area is quite small and after 10 - 30 minutes, you've seen everything (unless you take the tour that is, however the three of us are more hands on and like to go off on our own). There was a... More

The bug zoo was not a very big place but has a lot of different bugs that we don't see everyday. It's an educational place for all ages and a fun place for kids. note for parents: keep your children close to you and ask them to WALK inside the zoo. There were few bugs that the staff would let... When we first walked in we thought, "oh this will be a short visit", and we ended up spending almost two hours just gazing fascinated at all the creatures. The price was also absolutely acceptable, especially considering how wonderful the experience was. We learned a LOT, the staff were friendly and approachable, and we were even able to very careful... A must see when with the kids! Both our 12 and 6 yrs olds love this place and asked from inception of the idea of going to Victoria/ Vancouver Island - weeks ago - to visit this great spot! Although this time we all noted the number of insects/ bugs on display this time, was reduced, we all enjoyed our... More

I went to BC back in 2011 and went to this place. I LOVED it!! I have never seen a place dedicated to just insects and arachnids! If I go back to Vancouver Island, I will DEFINITELY go back to the bug zoo!

I'm assuming there was more on display some time ago as a number of terrariums were empty. There are roaches, mantis, various spiders, ants and a few others. The guide was very engaging, displays were not very informative.
