impressive hotel and grounds

We chose to stay at a newer hotel, but toured this hotel and enjoyed the high tea and the grounds. It is a must see if you visit Victoria.

Go for tea but if not at least visit to see this gorgeous place. The tea is wonderful....tasty treats and elegant atmosphere. We have not yet stayed here but it's worth a visit just to see. Hope to stay here next time!

Just wandering around in this venerable structure was very interesting. There seems to be something different around every corner. The shops were varied. The grounds were amazing. Like a miniature Butchart Gardens, only more convenient. A must see in Victoria!

I loved this Hotel, it is so grand and steeped with history, you can just feel it in the air! Tea time was unusual for me, but quite the event! I enjoyed watching people get all dressed up and begin the ritual of "Tea Time". The Grandure of this Hotel is truly spectacular and a must if visiting Victoria BC.

I had afternoon tea here with my mom and grandma and it was a really nice experience. They give you enough sandwiches, scones, and desserts for yo to have one of each and some of them were pretty tasty. Our waitress wasn't very good though, and I say that because they are supposed to come around and refill our cups... More

High Tea was really nice with live piano music. The staff was attentive and timely. The food was delicious! We had a window seat and could see the harbor.

The tea time at the empress is about $50CAD per person. I'd say it's actually better then the one at buchart garden (it just seemed a lot fresher- food wise). The empress tea is really good

I just loved to stay at such a gorgeous place where there is a breathtaking picture of cherry blossoms all over the historic site. In addition, the overall outlook of the Empress Hotel is classy which stands for an air of Victorian Romance.

We checked the block and walked through the hotel, but decided against High Tea here -- too expensive.

Although we did not stay there, it was a pleasure to stroll the grounds and wander into the grand lobby to see the opulence of this historic place. There was an afternoon tea with a variety of visitors sipping fine teas and tasting cucumber sandwiches.
