Visited the Royal BC museum in August 2009 to see the touring exhibit "Treasures: The World’s Cultures from the British Museum". Just an amazing display of artifacts, sculptures, paintings, weavings, household items and jewelry. Friends and I spent 3 hours viewing this touring exhibit and then after a coffee in the very nice onsite restaurant, we spent another 2 hours... more

I found the exhibits well done, and especially enjoyed the Treasures exposition. The whole visit took about 3 hours, most of which was spent in the Treasures section. The permanent section was interesting, but nothing super. At $27.50 for a ticket, I was not impressed. Considering I can go to the Louvre at 9 euros or the Uffizi at 6.50... more

We went to the Royal BC Museum, allowing about three hours to go through it. We wished we had allowed more time. While we were there, the "Treasures - The World's Cultures from the British Museum" exhibit was there. It was exceptional and took up about half our time. We ran out of time to really see everything on the... more

This museum was ok, but not worth $27 pp. The Cultures exhibit was much smaller than I expected and the other parts haven't changed in teh 10 years since I've been there. more

This place is just a short walk from the Province's Legislative Building. We went there on a rainy day and we risked getting the cold just to make a tour of the museum. But all was worth it when we saw what we could learn. We only arrived in Canada on Oct 2008 so we were very interested on the... more

Everyone in our party (4 adults) loved this place. I'm not big on museums, but this place wowed me. It wasn't the usual 'wow' of having lots and lots of quantity, but the quality and presentation. The lighting alone was noticeably fantastic. I've never before felt moved by totem poles...they've been interesting, amazing, intriguing, but I never really felt the... more

The Royal British Columbia Museum is a world-class collection of wildlife, First Nations artifacts, and other materials pertaining to British Columbia. Still, the exhibits suffer from organizational problems and some need to be updated. The Museum exhibits are located on the second and third floors. First, the natural history exhibits include fossils from prehistoric BC, wildlife, and a new ocean... more

We'd heard the Royal BC Musuem was one of the best in the world, and it's true. We planned for about an hour to check out the exhibits; we didn't leave until almost three hours later. Every single exhibit is so well-done, so visually appealing and so interesting to both children and adults. The range is amazing: from a gold... more

Their collection is mesmerizing. Beautiful collection with variety and depth. Particularly liked the masks combined with storytelling exhibit. Gift shop left much to be desired, though. I wanted to buy a souvenir, but couldn't find anything of quality. I left without buying anything. more

A HUGE and AMAZING museum. Loved the Prehistorical part and the last part had the old road, building, cars and theater where you can actually go in and look at the bedrooms and stuff! Great fun to go! When you get to the part where the mines are, you get to see if you can get some gold (you don't... more
