You can't expect great food on the ferry. You can expect to enjoy world class scenery. The line ups and ferry breakdowns and ever increasing fares are not much fun. Take in the on board naturalist talk if you are lucky enough to have it on your sailing.

Fly if you can and don't need a car. i use Westjet for work - direct flights to the interior (Kelowna). Harbour air to vancouver - fast and friendly. worth every cent.

Ferries never had the scheduling or mechanical problems they have had since privatizing...it was a mistake and it's time to own up to it and put it back in government's hands.

A 1.5 hours ride from tsawwassen to Victoria, as we were on a coach we parked on deck 2, then walked up to deck 5 for a quick breakfast, then headed up to deck 6 for the sunning view along the way.
Just a little FYI the restaurant on deck 5 is pretty pricy...Get your own food on land before...

This ride is really beautiful. It's a necessary evil to get on and off the island, and despite rising costs and the occasional wait, it's still one of the most beautiful extensions of any highway I have seen, anywhere in the world.

Wondering why the sea west lounge is not open on the queen of newwestminster when it's going to naniamo? Btw, a sign on the door would be useful for customers.
Seems redundant to not be open when all the other ships and routes have it open.....I for one would pay more for the lounge to be open and not have...

The BC Ferries are active in a lot of areas of BC. Whether you take one of the big ones to Vancouver, or a small one to one of the Gulf Islands the BC Ferries are truly memorable.
My only concern is that the price seems to go up three to four times a year. It wasn't very long ago...
