My tour didn't see any whales, so that alone made the trip disappointing. What I didn't like about the tour/company provider, however, was how the staff responded. Basically, they tried to convince us we had a great day even though we didn't! The purpose of a whale watching tour is to see whales, not seals and birds. Sure, seeing wildlife... More

We have been a few times and have never been disappointed. The crew are fantastic and to have Ron Bates aboard is a real bonus! The last time we went we were in the middle os a super pod and we also came across 2 humpack whales slapping the water and breaching it was truly a humbling experience to see... More

It's interesting to see whale around the ocean. Even though it was summer, but the wind blew coldly. If you don't use to be around the sub tropical climate, you need an extra jacket to wear. The service was nice, the guide explain everything about the whales' lives even their names. However, it's very difficult to see the whale jump... More

My in-laws from Montreal were visiting so we headed to Victoria for the weekend. We were blessed with sunshine and whales. First we followed a single Minke and then headed off in search for the Orcas. We found one of the local pods and followed them for an hour or so. It was wonderful. We got close enough to get... More

I had an amazing time on a 5 Star trip, so much so I went again the following year! Both times the Crew did their best to find whales and Dolphins, sea lions and anything else interesting going on. Both times we came across Killer Whales (which I discovered are actually "Dolphins!"). The Naturalists were caring and very knowledgeable, they... More

We were in Victoria in early September and booked with Five Star. The company and the staff were very professional and the equipment was as advertised. The problem was we searched and searched and after a few hours they spotted two hump back whales. They never came out of the water and every single whale watching boat from every company... More

I was fortunate to go out on a calm day. Being as I am from the prairies I new very little about the ocean or whales so I was quite excited. Thanks to the on board Naturalists and Captain I feel like I was auditing a marine biology course. What I learned about the ocean and whales was amazing, it... More

The staff were exceptionally pleasant and well informed about ocean concerns. It was neat to know the guy with the long beard looked after the comings and goings of the whales...what an advantage! The expedition catamarran was really smooth, fast and great for looking at the dolphins plaing on the bow!! 5 Star!!

Such a spectacular trip! Going at the end of September, the weather can be iffy, but Mother Nature smiled upon our trip that afternoon. The sun was shining and even the breeze was warm. Our very knowledgeable guides were very open with answers to our questions and we are already looking forward to going back in the spring for the... More
