The museum offers a package deal to see an IMAX film and admission to the museum. Time did not permit a museum visit, but the option is a good one

The movie was a bit hokey but the story of the monarch butterfly was incredible. The movie inspired us to plant milkweed for the butterflies.

Thank you for visiting our theatre during your visit and for taking the time to leave some comments. You might be interested to know that Jonathan Barker, the Executive Producer of the film and the President of SK Films, also lives in the Toronto area and will be most pleased you've planted milkweed for the butterflies. We love the Imax in Victoria! Check online for times and what shows are playing. The two film discount is good or you can get a combo ticket and see the museum too. Close walking distance from most downtown hotels.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed The HOBBIT: An Unexpected Journey on our giant screen during your visit to Victoria earlier this year. We are playing OBLIVION (with Tom Cruise) in the evenings at the moment and hope to open IRON MAN 3 on June 21, 2013 as soon as we receive approval from IMAX/Disney. We look forward to... More

The screen is 60' tall and they run several different shows each day, They also run feature films at night. There is a snack bar so you can take Drinks and Popcorn into the theater, Sound quality is good, screen is good, and the seats are comfortable. A discount is given if you want to see two films.

We watched the IMAX about the monarch butterflies. It was so touching and beautifully done, with Gordon Pinsent taking on one of the main roles. Very much enjoyed this film.

Thank you for your nice comments about Flight of the Butterflies. We couldn't agree more! It has been very popular film on the schedule and has been enjoyed by all ages. I think Canadian actor Gorden Pinsent does a terrific job of playing Dr. Fred Urquhart the zoologist/biologist, teacher and university professor who had been obsessed with Monarch butterflies since... We always enjoying going to the IMAX the reef show was good. It would be nice to see staff patrolling the theatre during the shows and asking people to leave if they are being disruptive. When we were there last there was a large school group and a couple of families with small children. The school was well behaved and... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your helpful comments. Please accept our apologies about the disruptive small children families. We don't often have issues like this, but do realise that they can occur and it does serve as reminder to us to patrol the theatre when the potential for disruption is present. By the way, if you forget... More

The theatre is great, definitely worth a visit if you haven't been to an IMAX theatre. If you have, the show selection is pretty good, a good balance of nature, adventure and history- and the one I saw was a companion to one of the special exhibits, which was great. They also offer one major motion picture currently in theatres,... More

We also saw the Reef but this film was not half as good as the Antarctica film. It was informative and explained about a voyage there in the 1900's which I had never heard of before which was amazing how it all turned out.

Thank you for your kind feedback on Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure. This film will play all summer and is a companion film to the Race to the End of the Earth exhibition now on display at the Royal BC Museum until October 14, 2013. You're right about the ill-fated Shackleton expedition and voyage. It's almost an unbelievable story of human survival... More

We saw two excellent films: the migration of butterflies and Shackelton's expedition to the Antartic. Loved the big screen and comfy seats.
