I took the free tour, and was very pleasantly surprised. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and the Victorian era actors did a great job of presenting their historical stories, and staying in character. The tours are free and seem to be every hour. The tour guide was very pleasant. Some characters appear in period costume too. This big castle on nthe inner harbour is actually the seat of Government for BC. It does have interesting things to see inside but mostly it is a stuffy spot. I have been there several times, at times when nothing particularly pressing was going on but I still found the guard (commissionaires) a bit oppressive. More
