I try to be generous in my reviews, but I was sorely disappointed with my experience with Orca Spirit Adventures. (Note: I'm aware my comments are highly subjective. Judicious readers, pick and glean. Skip ahead to the ending paragraphs if you want the objective reasons why I'd go with another company.) My family and I booked an orca-watching excursion with... Thank you for your review and comments on your experience with us Shamu21! It is very unfortunate your tour did not see whales. There are three resident pods of around 88 Orca Whales, which generally arrive in our area in spring and depart in fall. We were lucky enough to see whales on May 20th, unfortunately, two days after your... More

• Their website clearly states the whale season starts in April with a 95% chance of seeing the resident Orcas so we booked our tour late April. We came all the way from Australia only to be told when we arrived that the season doesn’t start for another couple of months and we chose a bad time to come. •... More

First of all let me say that I completely understand that there is an element of risk that you will not see whales on one of these tours. I also understand that the tour company is in no way responsible for whales (or other wildlife) being present on the day of the tour. I notice that many of the positive... More

Thank you for your comments about your experience with us this April. As well, thank you for understanding that wildlife viewing can be very challenging as wild animals can be hard to predict. We always hope to see Orca Whales during every tour, however, that is not always possible. We do have a 95% success rate of seeing Orca Whales,... More

Our family went out with Orca Spirit Adventures on October 9th and it was amazing. We choose the larger boat because we have small kids. Not only did we see orcas but we also saw a humpback whale. The crew were so great and we would absolutely recommend this company. More

First I will say that I was scared to go on a whale tour. I went since my husband really wanted to go. The good news is that is was not scary at all, it was fun. We were lucky and got to see a bunch of whales. We saw lots of orcas from the local pods and were also... More

My husband and I went on the silver larger boat (I did not want to go on one of the zodiaks) and had a blast. We stayed outside the whole time although there was inside seating for those who wished for some shelter during travel time.We were able to move up and down between the two levels and had some... We took a Zodiac whale watch tour and it was terrific. Of course we were hoping to see orca whales and when we booked earlier in the day we were told they were seeing them but when we arrived, were told that they had left the area a few days prior. So, basically they lied and we were not happy... More

We took the Zodiac out with Orca Spirit Adventures on 8/31/11. After about only 20 minutes, we came across a small pod of Orcas. After watching them a bit, we sped off to find the Humpbacks and our captain quickly located them. We got to experience two Humpbacks close to our boat - you could smell the "whale breath" -... More

This was our second time out with OSA, and unlike the previous trip in the afternoon when we saw a lone Transient Bull as the resident pods had decided to head for deep water, no doubt bored of the attention, this time round we went out on the morning sailing. Low and behold our pilot found a single pod ('K'... More

Incredible! One word to sum up our whale watching trip. The staff were knowledgable, friendly, fun and accomodating. We saw a pod of 5 or 6 beautiful Orca's and were taught by the naturalist many interesting facts about them. We sat and watched in awe as they surfaced over and over again, and my 4 year old nephew was thrilled!... More
