I took the day trip to Whistler on the Mountaineer. What an experience this was so very beautiful the entire trip. Very worth the $$ just go for it.. The train cars are very comfy and the service you get is super.. The meals you get don't compare with everything else but they certainly were satisfing and tasted good. Wouldn't... more

What a great tour...we travelled to Whistler by train and took the float plane option back to Vancouver. On advice from a work colleague we opted for the first class carriage and breakfast, were glad we did and would recommend thoroughly recommend. We went in summer and got to see some of the construction for the upcoming winter olympics. Go... more

Always wanted to take a train through the Canadian Rockies. We decided to splurge and take the Whistler Mountaineer from Vancouver to Whistler in the Glacier Dome car. What a spectacular ride! The train car itself was first class. Breakfast was yummy. The waitstaff / guides did their best to make sure you had whatever you wanted at all times... more

Picked up from our downtown Hotel by coach to the train. A cold Ham,cheese & egg roll with a packet of fruit , Juices, Tea,Coffee and soda pops was breakfast included in price. The breakfast roll needs to be upgraded ! Or eat before you leave home. The seats are comfy and service excellent, very informative.....but the scenery is what... more

Just moved to Vanc and currently playing "tourist" in our new home town. Booked this trip through a promotion to BC residents and made the trip first week in September. We drove to the station and found free parking nearby. Very well organized, all the little details were taken care of: coffee and temporary seaing were made available on the... more

This review is for train trip to Whistler in August of 2008 and a return trip to Vancouver two days later. We needed a way to get to Whistler from Vancouver at the end of a 3-week Alaskan vacation and chose the Mountaineer. Our experience started off with a bump when we received a fax at our hotel the night... more

Did this train trip in September 2008. I overnighted in Whistler, but you can do this as a day trip, with several hours in Whistler for looking around. This is definitely the way to capture the amazing scenery between Vancouver & Whistler. The Howe Sound is beautiful, as the track basically runs along the shoreline to Squamish. Stawamus Chief to... more

Ok I guess I`m in the minority, but I thought this trip was way, way overpriced. I would even say that the adverts are grossly misleading! My wife and I paid $738 for the trip to Whistler and a float plane ride back to Vancouver. The whole experience was saved by the float plane trip - which was fantastic. But... more

Very nice tour. We went on 7/15-7/19. We added an extra day in Whistler. Float plane was great, especially from Victoria to Whistler. And we loved the train from Whistler to Vancouver. We had nice seats in the Classic section but did not really stay there. We spent most of the time in the Heritage Car (open air on the... more

My wife, sister, and I rode the Whistler Mountaineer from North Vancouver (the southern terminus) to Whistler Village (the northern one) this week and had a "trip of a lifetime" experience. If you love trains, or natural beauty, or wild waterfalls, or the ski village experience, this is a fantastic opportunity. It is not cheap. We reserved over the internet... more
