The Commodore is legendary in Vancouver. In the old days it was famous for its sprung dance floor which (apparently) is a dream to ballroom dance on. That floor is still there, refurbished along with the rest of the room. I visited for the first time in years on Sunday for Blues for Christmas. It would have been nice if... More

Been hear a few times. We went for mad decent after party most recently. I love the commodore minus the floors that feel like they have never been washed. My feet shouldn't be glued to the floor at the beginning of an event. For a change the drink line wasn't bad even though it was a full house. I love... More

We saw Bad Religion here while we were in Vancouver. We did not pre purchase tickets, we did wait in line for an hour and a half to see if they would release any extras, and they did. This place is very spacious, far more spacious than you would think it was from the outside, but certainly more intimate than... More

Great place to see a sow or concert. There are staff and security here who are so helpful and friendly. Places to grab a bite or drink no line ups really as there is a lot.

Great place to see a show, lots of places to get a drink without waiting forever. Staff is chill and security is uncommonly friendly. Overall always a good venue!

My first visit to The Commodore Ballroom was to see Milky Chance in May. It was an incredible experience all around. Location is perfect, service was stellar and the entertainment was top notch. I'd like to visit the Commodore monthly because of their outstanding headliners and off the charts spaghetti Bolognese 🍛 We had the greatest of experiences that night,... More

Of the more than 20 concert venues I've seen Alternative Rock bands recently, the Commodore Ballroom is my favorite. It is an intimate setting with character. This time we sat at a table on the mezzanine. The view was great and the sound pretty good. We also ordered food. The Ceasar salad, Mushroom Flatbread, Burger and fries as well as... More

My first visit to the Commodore to see The Devil Makes Three (Sold Out). Doors opened at 8, we got there about 20 minutes early and stood in a decent sized line. Doors opened promptly at 8, the line moved quickly and we were able to get a small table on the first tier next to the dance floor. Bar... More

My first experience at the Commodore Club. Geat venue for a party that's for sure. I attended a wedding. Two levels in the club, multiple bas, stage for band and DJ set-up. Very popular place to go and see the latest bands in Vancouver. Totally enjoyed it.

We have been to 22 concerts in the last year and a half. This is the fourth Vancouver venue we have traveled from California to see an Alternative Rock band play. Tonight we saw The Airborne Toxic Event This is the third time we have seen them play. We made arrangements with Tracey from Live Nation to reserve a booth... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
