or just some exercise, as it has both values. Very easy to get to with a car. If no car, then slightly more difficult. Lots of parking. It is a very casual place. You can play sports, relax on the beach, do a bbq or simply join friends and family. The views of the mountains and Stanley Park are excellent. More

Across the inlet from English Bay, Spanish Banks is a popular beach destination, particularly during the brilliant summer months for bathers, swimmers, sun-worshipers, and picnicers. A wonderful view of the downtown core with its spectacular highrises, surrounded by the harbour and the mountains on the North Shore. More

Great to help visitors get their bearings. Shame about the litter you see on the beaches sometimes. More

Unlike wreck, you don't have to deal with naked creepies creepin' on ya. Unlike Kits, you don't have to deal with gaggles of roid-monkies, fake-tans, and no space. Unlike Jericho, it's just a bit quieter but still same view. Basically it's more secluded, but not totally, best views of North and West Van and downtown, best views of sunset because... More

This is THE place for a picnic- on a sunny day in the summer we often meet up in the late afternoon and watch the sun go down to the west, north the mountains and east is downtown Vancouver. You can buy fish and chips there, better to go to Granville island or Pantheon on Broadway to pick up some... More

Spanish banks is a beautiful beach that has nice sandbars when the tide is out and tide pools to observe. There is good parking, picnic tables, concessions selling fish and chips etc. Just the best place to spend a sunny day in vancouver even in the winter walking the sandy beaches and trails there is awesome.
