As a citizen living on the far side of the lower mainland, I make it a point to steal a day off or two each year to plant my feet in the sand here and enjoy the view. With a picnic lunch and a friend, or a visit to the concession for very decent fish and chips and other options,... More

An amazing place to walk and enjoy the outdoors. Such an easy and beautiful trail, and not too busy. It was very relaxing.

Peaceful, not many people there on a cold November day during the week. The views were spectacular with the ships on the water and the fog rolling in.

Spanish banks-the closest family beach to UBC is an amazing place to just relax yourselves after a hectic day. A 3 km walk from UBC or a 20 minute bus ride from Downtown Vancouver lands you in Spanish banks. The view from there is incredible and one can fall in love with serene atmosphere.

Even on the coldest days, you walk on the beach from East Jericho all the way to Spanish Banks West. At low tide, you can walk far out for ages on the sand. The last washroom and concession are about a 5 - 10 minute walk from the very west edge of the beach. This is a great spot for... More

Spanish Banks is always a fun place to go to, either in the spring, when it's not quite so busy. I've taken my bicycle for a nice little ride, the paths are good for walking, or having a bite to eat at the boating club...even staying at the hostel just down the road, which used to be an army barrack... I really enjoyed visiting here. I had been here before but not had time to walk out on tidal flats. So peaceful. Nice to see all the big ships lying at anchor in the main channel. Miles and miles of sandy flats with lots of little critters burrowing and scuttling here and there.. If you got a dog, bring him... More

I walk here several times a week--lucky me-- and I never tire of it. On a rainy day there's hardly a soul around (but nice clean washrooms!) and its located ina very fancy part of Vancouver, not far from the UBC campus. The entire walk, along the many sand beaches which stretch from Spanish Banks in the west to Jericho... More
