Watching the tides ebb and flow at Spanish Banks is an incredible experience. The kids and I spent a wonderful day, swimming, playing, and exploring the tidal pools. It's a nice sandy beach in most areas. If you're planning on spending a day at the beach in Van, you should definitely consider Spanish Banks.

Beautiful beach on the west side of Vancouver (adjacent to Jericho beach). It's particularly great at low tide when you can walk ~1/2km out into the ocean.

It's a fantastic beach for families and kids. Getting there by bike is a great start into the beach day. Riding down the Seawall to the Spanish Banks passing Kit Beach and Jericho Beach. This Beach is also very windy, trunks on the beach will cover you but it's better to carry a good wind shelter with you for a... More

Lovely sandy beach with pier and great views ! The beach is a 15minute drive from Vancouver Downtown and had cafe facilities. Parking there is free and there was a nearby sailing club.

After a great weekend sailing in English Bay we took a dip, swimming off Spanish Banks. Just on the fringe of the city, miles away from the fast pace, the beach and views are sublime. Well worth an afternoon escape to cool down and relax in the sand and water.

For date night we decided to picnic at Spanish Banks. Even though it was a beautiful evening and there were lots of people at the beach, we were able to get parking (be patient!). We sat on the sand on our picnic blanket leaning up against a log. The parks board does a great job placing the logs so you... More

This is a sandy beach on the banks of a river with stunning views of mountains in the background. Sadly it is a working river which is used by many tankers on a daily basis. It is a good place to sunbathe but I would not be too keen to swim.

The concession stand is well laid out with tables underneath umbrellas in a semi circle to take advantage of the great view out to English Bay. We had fish and chips which were cooked to order so that they were hot and had not been lying in grease. Other orders we saw i.e. burgers also looked very appetizing. The concession... More
