I did the little Italy food tour as part of a friends bachelorette party and to my surprise the food and the portions were awesome! Our knowledgable guide was Nikolai! He is friendly and knows the history more than I do and I'm a Vancouverite! Be warned - when they say show up with any empty stomach they weren't lying!... More

I really enjoyed the Little Italy Walking Food Tour which encouraged me to later invite my mother over to try some of the delicious Italian specialty there too. Our guide who happened to be the owner of the company introduced us to the little Italy, its history, people running the places and great selection of food and good portion by... More

After living in Vancouver for most of our lives we decided to take a tour of Gastown one of the oldest parts of Vancouver. It is located right downtown. We had a wonderful experience with Taste Vancouver Food Tours and guide Heather. She had lots of interesting things to tell us and also was very entertaining herself. Everyone of our... More

We went to 8 places on Commercial Drive and the guide was knowledgeable about the history/story behind each establishment. Portions were really good! Good diversity of food choices as well.

Ten foodie venues for bits, bites and gulps, plus a full plate of Gastown history... What more could I want for a birthday treat? Never would I Have seen and entered all these places, let alone enjoy samples. Thank you for deciding where to take us for great tastes and giving us Brent who was a superb actor/ host.

We had a great time on the Gastown Food Tour. The samples were all excellent and our guide, Brent, was very entertaining. It was especially interesting to learn so many new details about the history of Gastown, These were all places I would not have thought to try so I look forward to going back. I can't wait to try... We were a party of 5 who bought half price tickets on Travelzoo. For the price we found it as a fun way to spend a pre-Christmas afternoon. I have been on 2 other evening food tours and enjoyed the afternoon option. Brent the tour guide was very pleasant and informative. You could see he wanted the experience to be... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
