Description: Photowalks are a great way to see our beautiful city, learn and practice...
Photowalks are a great way to see our beautiful city, learn and practice the basics of photography, and get out of the automatic setting on your camera! In two hours, we cover exposure, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, composition and basic portraiture. Let's be honest though, it's also a ton of FUN! Lead by a professional photographer, participants are given tools, and an opportunity to explore a popular area (Science World, Convention Centre, English Bay, Coal Harbour, Gastown, Kitsilano or Granville Island) with their cameras, and are given small learning objectives. Introductory classes are offered during the day, and low-light classes in the evening.

Attending a Vancouver Photowalk is an amazing experience. I was able to explore Granville Island, learn how to use my Canon Rebel XS and meet some incredible people along the way. The tour took place in the evening and it was great to experience outdoor photography in the dark. I had no idea what photo painting was until I attended... More

I was in Vancouver last week to take the train back to Ottawa on "The Canadian" across BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. I had purchased a camera for the trip and for taking pictures at sporting events. Moving from taking pictures with my cell phone and a compact point & shoot up to a much more sophisticated camera proved to... More

I have been on a few photowalks with Suzanne over the past couple of years, and they have all been fantastic! Most recently I booked a Gastown night photography tour. I had a lot of fun, and also learned a lot about night photography and long exposure! Suzanne is very knowledgeable and personalized her approach based on my skill level.... More

I booked four of their photo tours. Two with Ekaterina and two with Suzanne. All four tours were fantastic. I learned so much especially with regard to camera settings, composition, and night photography. Both instructors were informative and very personal. I would recommend these tours to newbies through to avid photographers. Looking forward to visiting Vancouver again and taking more... More

I spent a really nice couple of hours with Ekaterina along the sea wall. She showed me a few new things about my old camera and helped me with some techniques on using the settings. I learned a lot. I really appreciated my time with her. Vancouver Photo Walks actually changed their location for me to Stanley Park rather than... More

We did Gastown with Ekatrina and it was a fun, learning time. The discovery of CRAB Park was a bonus. Learning lighting and angles and seeing through different eyes was another new way to see things. A must-do for anyone interested in creative photography.

I scoured online for an affordable introduction to photography class, and boy, was I glad that I stumbled upon Vancouver Photowalks! A great mix of theory and practical, Ekaterina taught us several new techniques and left us with some beautiful pictures to take home. As a new resident to the city and newbie to photography, I feel equipped to take... More

I really enjoyed my photowalk with Ekaterina. I am new to photography and I had a lot of questions for her. She did a great job at answering all of them and showing me how to apply my new found knowledge. It was a great investment to learn from a professional how to use the features on my camera and... This was my second PhotoWalk with Vancouver Photowalks. The first time I had Joseph as my instructor, and it was pouring rain, but we still had a lot of fun. The second time, I was lucky to have beautiful weather with my instructor, Suzanne. I have taken many photography courses, but I have learned way more about my camera's settings... More

We had a great time with Photowalks, spending most of our time around the Gastown area. Suzanne is a great teacher, immense knowledge and enthusiasm for all levels. It was really fun seeing parts of wonderful Vancouver from a different perspective and learning a lot to improve our photography. Would definitely recommend Photowalks, whatever your level of experience is.

Thank you very much for the review of VPW. We're excited to see your photos shared in the Flickr gallery! I'm glad we go to visit parts of Gastown that people wouldn't normally see, it helped that we had extra time on the private tour! More
