This is a local's beach and has easy access to stores, parking and their is either the beach, park or large community pool to lay around and enjoy the beach. Great views of Stanley Park, the mountains and the city. Very respectful and inclusive for singles, couples, seniors and families. Lots of people hosting bbqs, laying in the sun or... More

The beach itself is not attractive (dark sand and cold water) but a casual place where youngsters meet.

I'll start by saying i love the beach, all the activities available there and the area. However, i cannot bring myself to swim or even get into the water. It literally looks like a murky toilet bowl filled with stew, that pretty much ruins it.

Different sports and activities can take place here. Good options of restaurants inside a clean, organized neighborhood with a surfing atmosphere. Wish I can live there someday.

Go for a jog, go for a walk, go for a bike ride... if you can't get out as far as Wreck Beach or have small kids, than this is the ideal place to take a break on a warm day in Vancouver. With a public pool, a beach, a playground, and places for soccer, volleyball, and a ton of... More

Beautiful beach abutting a lovely residential neighborhood, plenty of conveniences without being too commercialized. Easy walk from the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver, and something for everyone (benches for readers and people-watchers, a coastal path for walkers/runners, and some watersports equipment for kayaking and SUP'ing. Clean, and beautiful views of the bay and the city skyline, not to mention Stanley Park.... More

One of a number of beaches in this area and great for walking and seeing the skyline of Vancouver with the snow-capped mountains in the background. Can get some good photos from here. Dogs are welcome.

This is one of the posher parts of Vancouver and it has a metropolitan, beach-side vibe which is quite beguiling. It's a big beach with plenty of amenities and on a blustery December day it was a good place to blow the cobwebs in a pretty location.

It's an easy bus ride to Kit's Beach from downtown Vancouver and a real must see for visitors. There are some excellent restaurants along 4th, you may just catch a free group beach yoga class, or can learn to paddle if you've never done that before.

The Kits side of Vancouver is just amazing. The houses, the shops, the food and the people. The beach is lovely during the summer - just sit here at the end of the day on a log and people watch!

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
