I went to Kitsilano Beach from 4th Ave., which takes you down a rather steep hill, so keep that in mind. But, you get to pass many interesting homes, if you love architecture, and many people walking dogs. The stretch of Kitsilano is pretty huge, since it leads out to a harbor, so you can see freighters and shipping boats... More

It's world class in terms of it's natural beauty....ocean and mountains. Really great that they now have a patio restaurant to sit and take in 'the show' on a warm sunny day. In the summer it's usually packed with all the young hard bodies playing beach volleyball or tanning or showing off or strutting or all of the above.

I take my dog to the off leash part and boy we have fun. Lots of areas to just sit and soak up the sun with your dog socializing with other responsible owners dogs. Today was a great day....

I have a friend who lives near here, so when I'm in Vancouver I often come here to walk or go kayaking or swimming, depending on the time of year and the weather. In the off season I like to park near the Planetarium and walk all the way around past the pool and then back again. Even on a... More

Anytime I get the chance to show somebody around Vancouver I start with Granville and walk to Kits. Whether it's a sunny day or overcast (or even a bit rainy) it's always a nice walk. Kits is at its best when it's a little quieter. You get great views out over the water, the mountains or the city.

You can't miss this place, you have to go here, otherwise you haven't really seen Vancouver. This is the most attraction and can be found in all holiday brochures. It is fairly clean and has great views but not clearly / well served by public transport. You can only get s bus here not the skytrain.

The only down side for me is that we went when there was a street festival on near by, so there was a lot of people. you can walk all the way along to Granville Island (I suggest you wear sensible shoes as blisters hurt!!) or there is a little ferry you can take. Just along from Kits there's a... More

Kits is only one of many of Vancouver's beaches. It's great for tourists and locals, rain or shine. It's best in summer but that's when it's also the busiest.
