Wanted to see a garden but didn't want to spend over $30 to go to Buchart that everyone talks about. The Van Dusen gardens are quite overlooked as they are beautiful! It is a collection of different types of gardens from zen, bamboo,redwoods. Just about everything is there as well as some of the most unusual beautiful flowers and plants.... more

Being a keen garden lover I have been immensely disappointed by the over priced tourist trap that is Butchart Gardens in Victoria. I was so delighted to discover VanDusen Gardens in Vancouver. It may not have the global reputation that Butchart has, but it was a far more appealing experience altogether. An interesting range of plants and landscaping beautifully signed... more

I visited the garden in august 2003 with my wife. We enjoyed the scenery and the lay out. Me, as a member of the International Dendrology Society enjoyed the many different tree species especially the trees of Western North America & Canada. I will advise my friends, when they are in Vancouver, to vistit the Garden. more
