Not a Catholic but enjoyed the beauty anyway.

Our friend recently was ordained as a priest there. Quite the pomp and ceremony spectacle but very beautiful all the same.

Loved the sung compline service on Sunday evening. Beautiful cathedral in lovely setting. We were there following a cruise in 2006 so I hope they are still upholding the tradition

I will have to say that I am a Church "fanatic" when it comes to Architecture.... This Church is great and has just undergone, and is still in the process of a new roof.....not just shingles...the whole ROOF!! What an undertaking.... Gregorian Chant services start again of February 7th, 9:30 PM....a great 'recharge' for the week!

We were married in Christ Church Cathedral in 1973, as were my parents in 1949. We try to visit whenever we come to Vancouver. It seems such a small place now with all the tall buildings crowding in over it, this old stone building holding its own amongst all the modern glass and steel. When you go inside, the world... This is a very beautiful church, very forward thinking and holds political debates and is community minded. It has a beauty and warmth that was attractive and wonderful. So well maintained clean as well worth a visit.

Christ Church Cathedral is at one of Vancouver's busiest intersections. It is a small stone cathedral towered by the Hotel Vancouver, Park Place, the Fairmont Hotel and the Bental Centre. That's probably why I find it so attractively charming. Its scale reminds me of the time when this Church was in the centre of a residential community in a growing... More

We were on our way to the port for an Alaskan cruise. We stopped for morning worship and eucharist. Though the congregation has exited the cathedral during major renovations, hey were a hearty, joyous, welcoming group. It can be tough to make a hotel ballroom into a place of fellowship and worship, but they did it - and apparently DO... More

This cathedral is situated in the heart of Vancouver central. It carries a sense of peace and calm in a bustling city. The interior is beautiful with magnificent stained glass windows and warm woodwork. Entrance is free.

Right in the middle of downtown, this cathedral is hard to miss. Worth a stop for a few pics as you walk past. It may even be possible to go inside.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
