Vancouver has a huge East Indian population, and this wonderful market is one of the benefits of our multiculturalism. East Indian friends tell me the range of products available here rivals similar resources in Bombay or Calcutta. Certainly, my wife and I have found everything we ever wanted on its well-stocked shelves. Very courteous staff will even give you a... More

Vancouver is a truly multicultural city. It's nice to come to this area on Main Street, but it offers a very small sampling of the buisnesses owned and operated by the East Indian community in Vancouver (I'd say the same of Chinatown). My trip of Punjabi Market was quite disappointing. I felt that the few stores making this small market don't capture the essence of the large Indo-Canadian population in Greater Vancouver. A better experience would be to travel to Surrey and use this as your guide: http://www.ekam.ca/search/?q=restaurants&r=metro&l=vancouver More

I expected... More

Punjabi Street in Vancouver has by far the best deals that I have seen on Indian clothes in North America. Rockbottom prices - salwar suits starting at $9.99, negotiable prices, and excellent food make this a great spot to hit. More
