A cool sunny Sunday in November. Street hot dog vendor (named Mike, I think) was set up. Craving a hot dog I was ready to shell out whatever it costs and you're prepared to go up to the $10 neighbourhood . NOT SO HERE!! Three dollars for a great tasting dog and a buck for a can of Coke. This... More

It is a vibrant area. Lots of little restaurants near by. It is a nice place to spend the day at the beach and people watch.

Not everything has to cost money. Bring a blanket, grab a book and pack a picnic ..... this is the place to be. Whether you enjoy strolling, sitting or sleeping there is no cleaner more scenic spot in the city to do it. The beach is groomed all the way round. The sand is clean, there are various benches, logs... More

If you wanna take a rest, or do some exercises, or only take beautiful photos, it's your place! The nature isn't not perfect, but here the humanity has made the difference.

We stayed in a condo that overlooked the bay, you could not have asked for a better view. We ate breakfast at the Sylvia Hotel and dinner at the Cactus Club, both were excellent.

Ocean, beach, mountains, sunsets, patios....what more do you want? It doesn't get any better than this. Your only conflict is to watch nature at its most beautiful best or people watch...hmm... just do both like me. In the summer you can rent a bike or roller blade the 'strip' from Stanley Park to downtown.

We walked a lot, and it was very pleasant, even in the dampness and rain. I would have preferred a little sun but given it was November and snowy in the rest of Canada, it was a pleasant change. Lots of people biking, walking, jogging and getting exercise. Numerous little restaurants and eateries which provide a variety in choices of... More

English Bay is well situated adjoining Stanley Park (in fact if you walk very far, you will find yourself in Stanley Park without realizing it). There are excellent walking trails (it's appreciated that the biking/skating trails are separated from the walking trails) along the beach. Denman Street is nearby-loaded with restaurants. Even when raining, you'll see all kinds of people... More
