It certainly is not as beautiful as some of the great seaside cities of the world (such as Sydney) but it was still pleasant enough to spend a couple of hours walking around. We got off the trolley at Stanley Park and walked to False Creek Ferry Stop ( the Ferry to Granville Island) and everyone in our party enjoyed... More

English Bay is breathtaking with the water, anchored cargo freighters, sailboats, the city and the marvelous mountains.

Be sure to leave some time to walk along the seawall next to English Bay, after you visit the West End. Fewer oil rigs spoil your vision than in the Burrard Inlet, and the seawall walk is lovely. Make time, too, for amusing sculpture at the intersection of Davie and Denman Streets before you start your walk along the Bay... More

This is a fantastic area of Vancouver. I recently discovered this is my favourite neighborhood for many reasons. You are close to everything and have a perfect sunset view. Also very near the entrance to Stanley Park, which is extensive, deeply forested and worth investigating with a pair of hiking shoes or a bicycle.

There is a beautiful beach at the corner of Denman and Davie Street in Vancouver. English Bay is lined with trees and pathways and greenbelts. We call this "The West End" of Vancouver. Some of the best restaurants in Canada are here. The beach is soft sand. water is too cold to swim in from October until June. You can... More

The beach is very nice! It was low tide and the beach was covered in purple shells! There were a lot of people enjoying the area! There are logs all over to sit on or rest your feet well laying on the beach! Water was a little cold! But the view was great!

I lived a block from English Bay for almost six years back in the "good old days". You tend to take it for granted all too easily. I don't live nearby anymore, but I can't think of anything better to do than to head down on a summer's evening, grab some food to go on Denman Street and then park... More

You get a clear view of the sun setting from English Bay. Lots of good places to eat all along Denman street next to the beach. Long walks available on smooth surfaces as well as the sand.

The bay is nice. The Inukshuk is lovely. The atmosphere in the neighbourhood is fun and relaxing. The Sunset was a bit disappointing. We have seen better sunsets as the Sun sets behind hills. The walk on the bay was lovely. We found it hard to get a taxi back to the hotel when we were done with our walk... More

Great food, shopping, and entertaining! There was live entertainment outside, unique shops, lots of dining options, and a great place to walk around and enjoy!
