For someone used to the Santa Monica pier, Venice Beach, and the Malibu area. This beach seamed small.

We stayed just a block from English Bay and enjoyed the sunsets both nights that we were in town. I would imagine in the summer it can get really crowded.

Lovely to stay near a beach to visit Vancouver. Frequent trolley buses to city centre. Plenty of places to eat. Very popular with locals to relax after work.

There's a sunset for every day of the year in English Bay. This is a beautiful scenic area complete with a long stretch of beach, a stunning view, and lots of nearby pubs and restaurant. The beach park gets crowded at sunset. Make sure you get there early to nab your spot.

We've biked or run both sides of English Bay during each of our three visits to Vancouver in the past 17 years, and it's been enjoyable each time. The uncountable views are excellent. We've biked it as part of a full day ride that included the entire Seaside route from Canada Place, along the Stanley Park Seawall, False Creek, and... More

We saw English Bay from Ferguson Point situated in Stanley Park. Great photo op. There's a beach to the right and below this grassy area. Across from Ferguson Point is a great restaurant called The Teahouse. Sit on their patio and enjoy the scenery.

Good beach, lots of people, but clean and easily accessible. Apparently "The" beach to go to in the area.

You have to get a spot early, so take blankets, folding chairs, and something warm to put on later A MUST is take a fantastic picnic or have pot luck with your friends. We usually pick straws for who goes early and keeps he spot, but that couple doesn't have to bring food or beverages, just lots of blankets to... More

English Bay is just the perfect "cap" to a day in Vancouver. My favourite is late afternoon and into sunset...or the completion of your walk around Stanley Park. The sunsets are awesome and the silouhetes of the ocean going freighters seem to change on the half hour. A hustle and bustle by wonderful relaxation near the the Pacific Ocean. Dress... More

You can walk all around, from Stanley Park all the way past Kitsallano beach area. You can also grab a little boat tour through out the area
