If you visit Vancouver in July/August make the effort to go to English Bay to see the Festival of Lights. It is crowded and you have to be patient but the wait is worth it! Fabulous atmosphere and the Canadians are so civilised and polite. Top tip would be to take a beach mat, arrive by 8 at the latest... More

I was in Vancouver in 2009 and this was one of my favorite places there. Nice atmosphere and the best sunset!

Best to oh after a walk around Stanley park, have your feet in the sand go for a dip if your feeling hot! They have cute little logs along the beach so you can sit on them if you forget a towel! It's really busy in the hit days but at the same time you can find your own little... More

A beautiful beach. If you happen to be there in January, be sure to stop by and take in the fun at the Polar Bear Swim.

Absolutely top location in Vancouver, great beach, surrounded by a plethora of restaurants serving from simple to very sophisticated food. Situated a the Southern entrance to Stanley Park, it is part of the walkway around Stanley Park and indeed along the entire waterfront of Vancouver. Great for experiencing fantastic sunset from the beach or one of the many restaurants. Efinitely... More

This was awsome! On January the 1st everybody comes together at this beach to watch those brave men, women and children get into the freezing cold wáter. Some just run in and out, others really take a swim, others even went in twice. It's really fun to watch how everybody prepares themselves differently for their dip.

We walked along Denman St. and brought shwarama from Alladin down near English Bay, for a picnic. They have a large beach area with restrooms and snack bar and lots of big logs to sit on, as well as benches. You are entertained, sometimes, by street people with guitars. The swimming area has a large metal slide which reminds me... More

I loved taking a good little walk along the beach looking at the oceans and the views around. It is one of the peaceful places that you could visit. We had placed a visit along with the Stanley park and both places proved to be the best time in Canada we had. The food around at the place was good... More
