This fresh urban neighbourhood is just an easy walk from the centre of downtown Vancouver or a quick ferry ride from Granville Island. Yaletown’s converted heritage buildings are home to some of city’s top fashion and design shops, as well as cutting edge restaurants and bars. Old loading docks act as giant sidewalks and create a unique setting for wandering, shopping, or lounging at one of the many outdoor patios. « less

On the positive side, Yaletown has a nice mix of restaurants and shops. However, the area was about the dirtiest we've ever seen in a big city. Specifically, lots of litter (cigarette butts, empty coffee cups, potato chip bags, etc.) and some smelly, overflowing garbage cans. The area needs some TLC and it could be great.

It's a gorgeous place to be even to stop by for a half hour by sunset. The views there are magnificent so try not to pay attention to all the shops but even better the view. Stop by in fly over canada which will also be worth every penny. Definitely check this out before you go!

The Yaletown district/area of Vancouver was a wonderful area to walk around and explore. There are numerous upscale & outstanding restaurants, neat shops, breweries, parks, etc. We were quite surprised at the number of very large high-rise condo buildings. (Nice looking – have no idea of the cost however.) Mainland Street and Hamilton Street seem to have the neatest shops... More

I can not express how beautiful this neighborhood has become. Wonderful waterfront condos surrounded by restaurants/shopping. This neighborhood is lively and full of places to see and great walk ways

Yaletown has a lot of fun restaurants, tapas and coffee shops. Be aware some of the eateries are quite expensive. You can take the foot ferry over to Granville island from Yaletown. The sky train also stops at Yaletown. Great place to look over false creek and people watch.

Multiple restaurants to choose from with nice outdoor patios. We ate at Earls, The Keg, Starbucks. All were great. Good place to hang out, grab a drink, grab a bite or gather with friends.

Lots of restaurants. Neat area. Sky train stop nearby. Close to everything. Ate at the Cactus Club on their patio.

With its many upscale restaurants and unique shops nestled in old buildings and warehouses, Yaletown has a charm all its own. Great for meeting friends, may be not so much for families with young children. For the tourists, it is within walking distance from the downtown area. The pavers on some sections of street may prove challenging to some.
