Took some great photos! Enjoyed the gift shop too. I didn't take the time to explore the whole place but walked all around it as well as inside the main area.

The exterior of the building was most interesting and the facility was not open at the time we visited. The library design resembles the Roman Colisseum.

So many cities have excellent libraries, but the Vancouver Central Library is the best from a visitor's perspective -- location, architecture, and atmosphere.

Being bibliophiles, I adore this place, It is so wonderful to see such a true bastion of literacy. When other libraries are falling into disrepair, downsizing, or closing altogether, the Vancouver Public Library stands as proud. Each of my children, when brought to visit Vancouver for the first time, have specifically asked that the VPL be included in their 'introductory... More

I am so suprised that the library offers some books in Chinese. It's a good place to spend sometime with.

As we enter deeper and deeper into electronic communication, people speak of libraries as no longer having a place in our society. A visit here will change that perspective. Technology has been incorporated into this vast land of paper and ink. It has several levels, and you can stay for hours checking out everything and anything you are curious about.... More

Unfortunately on the day we were there they were not open, but still well worth the stop as it is a way cool structure.

They are renovating it while still staying open. I received friendly quick service and found lots of computers. A well used facility right downtown.

Words cannot express how truly fantastic this library is. You look like your going into a cathedral from mid evil times or something. The building is unique and inspiring. 6 floors of good reads. Easy to get lost in there for many hours. Great eateries and little shops to relax in as well in the complex even a travel agent!!

Whenever I go visit a city, i like to do some cultural sightseeing as well...talking and watching the locals, and visiting places they would...just to blend in. It gives one a more accurate picture of what life is like. If you are in a hurry, try visting public places to learn about them. I thought visiting the public library would... More
