The experience is like no other in Vancouver. You should do it but its worth shopping around the tour providers. There aren't many but its clear some try harder than others. You will quickly assess the difference if you simply attend the Seaplane Port / dock itself and just walk around the to the various desks. If you're a nervous... More

I had planned an impromptu trip to Victoria and worried about the impending rainy and windy whether...I shouldn't have worried. Flying in the copilot's seat on a turbo otter, the pilot flew just under the rain clouds and the views were still amazing. Even with a bit of turbulence, it was a fun trip and so unique. Definitely spend the... More

They have many options for trips but we did the basis 20 minute trip which I would say was more than enough. You get a nice panoramic view of the city. Not for the faint hearted though as it was a little bumpy. Worth doing if you are in town for a few days!

What a great way to get to the island quickly. Service is frequent and convenient. Price can be a little steep - once you see the beautiful scenery price tag will soon be forgotten.

There are not too many places worldwide where float planes can be seen in such abundance and fly on actual scheduled airline services. (Only the Maldives springs to mind). Canada is of course one such place. Harbour Air use three types of aircraft The De Havilland DHc2 Beaver, DHc3 Otter and DHc6 Twin Otter (though technically the latter is part... More

Booking was a breeze. Check in staff very friendly and helpful - offering an earlier flight as it was not full. Van City terminal easy to get to and very pleasant. Pilots were great - take offs and landings were smooth. On flight back to Vancouver - we paid the extra $10 to reserve particular seats ( my wife can... More

Great experience flying over the harbor. A little pricey for such a short flight, but I loved it. I would stay with the 20 minute option.

We took a 5pax+pilot 35min flight from downtown Vancouver to Salt Spring Island. The waiting area, boarding, flight, landing, disembarking were all fantastic. The aerial views of vancouver, mountains, islands, all super. Seaplane experience is a must do!

I love any sort of flight experience. It was very safe, Pilot was very courteous and I could see Vancouver from another perspective. The only thing is that we do not hear any information/audio while flying over the places. It is a silent voyage. But I do recommend. It is a nice experience. To take photos, It is better to... More

When you miss the ferry and have a very limited amount of time to get to Nanaimo, it's nice to know that you can jump back in your car and zip down to Coal Harbour to catch a float plane. And that's exactly what we did. It was Mother's Day and they were having some kind of "half price for... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
