Ok straight up the truth is we didn't see any whales, but we still had a great day out. We were blessed with brilliant weather, enjoyed the thrill of a high speed boat trip through fabulous scenery. Saw a Dall's porpoise, bald eagles, seals. We had a very enthusiastic, fun & knowledgeable host. Had the whales appeared it would have... More

I took this trip at the end of my holiday with my 2 young children and was hoping it would be the grand finale! It didn't disappoint! We saw a pod of around 6 transient orcas chasing a seal and it was a spectacular sight! My son thought it was 'awesome' so I think he was impressed too! Julan was... More

Thanks for the review! It's always a treat to see the ocean's top predator hunting. It's very rare to catch a glimpse of it. Jilann is one of our senior naturalists and has really perfected her craft. She is very knowledgable and has the passion and enthusiasm to go with it. It's great to hear you and your kids had... I was in town for a conference and had allowed a day to go whale watching, I had deliberately not booked in anything in advance in case the weather was bad and we could not go. Given my time and cost limitations I knew I would need to take a day trip from Vancouver on a fast boat. as a... More

Hey Nick, Thanks for taking the time to write this great review. Those Humpbacks have been amazing this year and there seems to be more and more of them every year! Nicole is a great naturalist, her enthusiasm is second to none and she will be thrilled to see this review. Thanks again and hope to take you out again... More

After reading some of the negative reviews I only have one question, what did you expect, it's a boat trip lol of course there might be waves, of course you may not see whales, of course it might be cold.... seriously mother nature is unpredictable if your trip was rescheduled at least this company honored the fact that you did... Thanks Sherry! This is such a great review. I remember the trip you were on and that was an incredible day. The guideline you were mentioning is set by the Pacific Whale Watch Association (PWWA) and you can find a link for their page on our website in you're interested. We take a lot of pride in being the only... More

We took the 4-6 hour whale watching tour from Granville Island with great expectations. The day was gorgeous (this was after being reschedule due to rough seas the day before). After picking up a picnic lunch & drinks (not included in the tour), we joined about 16 other people in the semi-enclosed boat. We chose this boat because it has... More

Thanks for your review. It sounds like you were out on a pretty choppy day. If the weather forecast is bad in the morning, we typically cancel our trips. From time to time, wind can pick up more than expected and it can get a little rough. However, the majority of our trips experience good conditions on the water. The... More

We travelled to Granville specifically to see the orcas, and after a short boat trip, they were in the waters around us and we watched in awe as their sharp dorsal fins cut the surface of the water mere metres away. A fantastic day out, we loved seeing them and would definatly go again. 5 stars because anyone would enjoy... More

While in Vancouver for a conference, we decided to use our one free day to see orcas with Wild Whales. It was a truly incredible experience and we had the opportunity to see many orcas, sea lions, a couple of bald eagles and not to mention some gorgeous scenery of the autumn leaves. It did turn out to be a... More

Thanks for the review. Glad to hear that you had a memorable experience with the whales! The fall trips can be a bit chilly but it's one of my favorite times of year because of the diversity of wildlife. I couldn't agree more about leaving yourself some extra time to check out Granville Island. It is very unique. Thanks again! More

I had a wonderful time on my trip with Wild Whales Vancouver. Its disappointing that they don't have a five star rating due to some people who have left bad reviews as I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Admittedly I was very lucky and saw a lot of wildlife including a number of Orca however I think the... More

That is so great to hear Catherine! Our goal is to give people an experience that is more than just seeing whales on a boat and it's great to hear that you walked away with a new appreciation for the whales and the ocean. Thomas has been with us since the company opened and has always one of our best... More

Wow, what an amazing trip!! Definitely a highlight of our holiday. The tour guide (Nicole) was incredibly enthusiastic and her excitement was infectious. She had been studying orca for years and so was very knowledgeable and informative and told us all sorts of facts and stories. The skipper (Dennis) was clearly well-experienced and managed to steer us into some fantastic... More

I've been before with a range of whale watching operators in Vancouver and Victoria, and these guys are the best by miles. Choice of boats, comfortable seating, knowledgable staff, and a trip that can last anywhere from 4-7 hours, which gives you every chance of seeing whales of all sorts, rather than some of the shorter time-pressured operators who compete... Thanks for the great review Spencer! Only scheduling one trip per day allows us to spend more time on the water and, like you said, have no time constraints. It's something we are very proud of. We always hire passionate and knowledgeable staff that can inspire people to make a change to help the whales and environment. Cayley will be... More
