This is a really enjoyable hike. We booked into the Lone Cone camp site and set off from there. The weather was hot and I would recommend to bring plenty of water. Staying at the camp sight added to the experience of the hike, it was so relaxing with a beautiful beach and lake near by

We knew going into this hike since it was foggy our view would be impeded but we relished the challenge of the hike. Budget $40/person for the water taxi to the island, then an extra $10/person in cash to pay the natives that maintain the trail when you arrive on the island. We are moderately fit people and we do... More

Did this hike early one morning. We wanted to enjoy the views from the top and therefore made a quick 1.5 hour walk up. It is very steep, with slippery roots, and areas that have muddy trails. This would only be recommended on a clear day. Take your time and enjoy all the amazing song birds and all that the... More

Have hiked allover the world. This is not worth it. All 4 of us ( experienced) said it was the WORST hike of our lives. First it is over roots and mud x the initial 20-30 minutes. Then you climb at a 45 slope for the remainder. NO VIEWS. We were not warned of a wasp's nest on the trail... More

This hike is very steep at places but worth it for the view at the top! The Tofino Water Taxi costs $40 for a round trip, and takes about 15 min to get there. The first km was muddy and then the rest very steep with lots of roots. The steep part feels like it keeps going on, but once... More

This is a tough hike, quite a rough trail and very steep when you get to the climb. It took us 2:35 to get to the top from the boat jetty and only slightly less on the way down (don't listen to the tourist office - 2 hours up 1 hour down is very ambitious). The water taxi guy knows... More

This hike isn't easy! But what a view when you get to the top!! My fiancé and I do this hike every year when we travel to Tofino!! I recommend you bring good hiking shoes (you will get muddy)! We heard wolves last year so I wouldn't do this hike alone. We also bring our pups who just love it!!... More

Departing in February over the family day long-weekend my girlfriend and I were the only people that hiked the Lone Cone. We ascended the mountain from dock-peak in 1 hour and 48 minutes. However we only stopped briefly for water, fixing gear, and for a few photos. I didn't feel exhausted at the top but it does have a bit... More

An amazing hike ! Go with Captain Dennis, who can be booked through Jamies. Very informative and will pick you up at a pre-determined time. When you think you have packed enough water in your backpack ... double it !! snacks too. nothing too heavy. Lone Cone is a climb ! get ready! I have done it 4x now, and... More
