We took a tour to the Hot Springs, it was a perfect day to be out on the water! Our captain was Jesse, who was professional and personable, knowledgable about the area and enthusiastic about his job and being out on the water. He was quick to point out the local fauna, or maneuver the boat around if one of... More

Went to Ocean Outfitters in December. Weather that day was pretty decent but was a bit windy. The staff in the building and the two boat operators we met were amazing. Super accommodating and patient. The boats were in great shape and the instructor was very up to date on safety. This was by far the most invigorating experience I've... More

Magical! Celine was a great guide for our Mears Island Big Trail tour w our dog. Added on a harbour boat tour and to our surprise we had an encounter with a pod of transient Orca whales! We had the added magic with the walk among Giant cedar trees and the rustic wooden boardwalk. Checkin was lovely at Ocean Outfitters... More

Ocean Outfitters did a great job getting us out to Hot Springs Cove. The 1 1/2 HR boat ride each way was pretty choppy but we stayed warm and dry in our covered, heated boat cabin. Unexpected bonus - we saw a humpback whale!!

Went out with Oren on one of the Ocean Outfitters boats to Hotsprings Cove. The trip was excellent-we took the outside route on the way up, and saw seals, sea lions, sea otters, and a whale. Oren is obviously highly skilled and knowlegeable about the Tofino area. Trip back was on the inside route as the weather had changed. The... More

We have been on various whale watching tours in California and Hawaii and have not seen any whales. Thanks to our guide, Ryan, we finally saw some awesome gray whales!! We also saw bald eagles, sea otters, sea lions and seals. The trip in the zodiac was incredible and exciting. The staff was very accommodating and made booking our trip... More

Went on the bear watching trip at low tide. Fantastic evening on a very calm sea. If you are worried about seasickness, like me, then don't be because they take you round small inlets between islands and it is very calm and still. We were so lucky to see 10 bears, including a mother and 2 cubs AND a mother... More

We went out kayaking with Hunter (our guide) for an entire day. Wow: fun, sports/challenging, rich/interesting ... one of our best days in Tofino. We were a small group (i.e. Hunter and just the two of us) and we went as far into the inlets as we possibly could. Hunter is very knowledgable, an interesting & fun guy to be... More

We had an excellent trip with Ocean Outfitters on one of their Zodiac ribs. On arrival we we're kitted up with survival suits to keep us warm, as well as including integrated life jackets. We traveled up the coast to Cow bay were the Grey whales had been seen feeding. On the way our guide pointed out various points of... More
