Last week I took my third tour with Ocean Outfitters over the last few years. They were initially recommended to me as the best company by the owner of a rental who has lived in Tofino for decades. She was right! My most recent tour was bear-watching and was wonderful! I am a bit disabled, and staff were so helpful... More

My family and I went on the 6-hour Hot Springs Cove excursion and we had a fantastic time! We came across Ocean Outfitters shop after being turned away by Remote Passages upon looking for a hot springs tour. As my sister is pregnant, they wouldn't let her join as they didn't want to be liable to any risk. We were... More

We went on a boat with the hot springs, whale watching and bear tour. We saw so much wildlife and our captain Misty knew so much about everything. Not just did we learn about a lot off nature, we also got to know the history. On a shorter trip to Meares Island, our other captain Celine, gave some more information... More

Everyone should book a trip with these guys. We started off with bear watching and saw a female with her 2 cubs and a male, fabulous. We also took the trip to Meares Island. Ryan our captain added a special something to the journey by throwing a fish for an eagle. Amazing.

Made it back to Tofino and looked up Ocean Outfitters again, for a whale watch trip this time. What a beautiful trip, lots of great sightings of mothers and young ones, such magnificent creatures! Unforgettable! We had done a bear watch last time, also a wonderful experience. Great atmosphere, friendly and informative staff, we had a great time to say... More

I've had two trips with Ocean Outfitters this week, the first on a zodiac to see whales and the second on a boat ride to local Hot Springs 90 minutes up the coast. On both trips I was impressed by the passion, seamanship and knowledge of Misty the driver, who grew up in the area. This extensive and intimate knowledge... More

This was the third trip I'd taken with Ocean Outfitters (12 May 2015), on the previous trips (April 2014 & Sept 2009) I'd seen bears down on the beach turning over rocks looking for crabs to eat, but this trip turned out to be the best trip so far. There were 6 of us on the boat with the Capt.... More

I took the whale watching tour with the Ocean Outfitters in April 2015. In the last 5 years i had a great experience with whale watching tours on the East Coast of Canada and I was hoping this(first time on the Pacific) will be a good one also. But no,unfortunately the sea was rough,we encountered 5m swell(as told by the... More

Dear Dani We were saddened to read your review and would love to offer you free passage aboard one of our cruises on a fair weather day. We operate safety first and our vessels are designed for stability and optimal wildlife viewing. It is common to experience swells at sea. Some guests are far less comfortable with this than others.... More

Ocean Outfitters is an exceptional tour operator. We went on a whale watching and hot spring tour. Not only are the staff friendly, the boats are in top-notch condition, the guides are knowledgable and the organization has a deep commitment to protecting and educating about the Pacific coast. The tour operators were tolerant of my never ending questions (but as... More

April 25 was a perfect day in Tofino. One of those rare warm sunny days you dream about. My wife and I (experienced hikers with plenty of backwoods experience) decided to hike the loop trail on Meeres island with our three kids and a second couple, also experienced hikers. I phoned a water taxi service who quoted a price of... More

Dear Michael & Family, When you initially called our office you never mentioned that you wanted to walk the Loop Trail. You only mentioned this once you arrived in our office. Had we known that when you called we could have saved you the trip over and very easily clarified that we do not offer service to walk the Loop... More
