The service was great, our guide was very informative (can't remember his name, he was young and well-traveled making for very interesting conversation). Saw a few whales which was great, the water was pretty rough which made them harder to see but overall not bad. Can't blame the company for unplayful whales! Haha (Remember they aren't Orcas! These animals are... More

The first whale watching activity was not good because of the fog, we tried again the day after and no whale but only some orcas from very very far... There were other zodiac by different company, just a bit closer... After a while our time was over and we came back to harbour... The other zodiac remained in the area,... More

Thank you for the feedback. We are disappointed to learn that you were unhappy. It is our sincerest desire to provide all guests with a memorable experience and our guides do their best to find whales and other marine life which are abundant on our coast. We do experience varied weather conditions which can provide challenges on certain days. This... More

Ocean Outfitters was recommended by our B&B hosts at Gull Cottage. We were given 10% off because we mentioned their name when booking. We spent our morning on a relaxing boat trip to view bears so we decided to change our afternoon whale watch reservations from boat to Zodiac for a little more adventure. There was space for us to... Firstly, the $119.00 it cost is actually $141.45 after fees & taxes. Yes, we stopped & got great photos of momma bear & her 2 cubs. Very cute to watch. Saw the eagle, a bunch of sea otters, some cool jellyfish floating all over the water. Not enough info regarding the hot springs thou. We thought that since the 2... More

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to address concerns as often, it helps answer questions for other travelers. Our whale watch programs focus on wildlife for 2.5 hours. While we do not promise nor guarantee any wildlife sightings on the Hot Springs Cove tour, most are hugely successful. The focus is on getting you maximum time at... More

I was here 15 years ago with my mom and we went on a whim on the hot springs tour. At that time, I had hoped to one day return with my kids. They are grownups now and our opportunity finally presented itself. We booked a reservation long in advance and weren't disappointed at all. We did check in with... More

First the good..... We turned up to the shop front a little early & found the girls in the Ocean Outfitters shop front to be very pleasant & helpful & happy to supply info & assistance. We had booked the Hot Springs tour. Our tour guide/ Boat Captain Ron was a really nice bloke that was full of facts &... More

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review! Feedback is always helpful. We wish we could whistle up wildlife on command however that is impossible. We do not guarantee sightings on the Hot Springs Cove program as we have a destination and limited amount of time to get you there. Although you travel through prime feeding grounds on... More

Fabulous trip with knowledgable captain on the Zodiac boat. Warm and cosy in suit they provided, needed the wooly hat and gloves. Saw Orca and humpback whales, also sea lions, seals, sea otters. Great value for money.

This was my 2nd time heading to the hotsprings as I wanted to take my bf from out of town there. the first time was with jamie whaling a few yrs ago. although that was a great experience also, what made ocean outfitters stand out was the experienced and knowledgeable guide, Ron, we had for our tour. Experienced captain, knew exactly where to go to find bears hunting for breakfast along the rocky shoreline. Had the amazing experience of seeing two small cubs literally scampering up a tall doug fir battling with each other all the way to the very peak of the tree. Unless it is really wet, take the zodiac if that option is available... More

Would have been great, but our guide used his position to give us his (one-sided) views of "the government". Peter went on a tirade about what a blood-letting government we have and how they allow this and that to be slaughtered. No real facts, just rhetoric and as an ambassador of this country, he needs to be mindful of the... More

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Your comments are appreciated. We know Peter is very passionate about the environment and the goal of each program is to encourage some stewardship, however, the tour should not be of a political nature. A lot of British Columbians are currently discouraged and don’t feel represented by this government’s... More
